He can still come to the NBA, but this cannot be good news for the Blazers.

BADALONA, Spain (Ticker) -- Spain international guard Rudy Fernandez has extended his contract with DKV Joventut for three seasons, tying him to the club through the 2010-11 campaign.
Fernandez, who was selected in the first round of the NBA draft on June 28 by Phoenix and then traded to Portland, had been weighing his options with Barcelona also interested in signing him.

"The club, in exchange (for signing the deal), will ease his way to the NBA in any of the seasons," the club said.
DKV did not indicate if a buyout clause had been inserted into his new deal, however.
"I value this agreement greatly," Fernandez said. "I think Joventut have shown that they value me and trust me. They have improved my contract, that was something on our minds and more so, have given me the possibility of going to the NBA, which is my aim.
"For that reason, I have turned down many offers from other teams because I preferred to remain at DKV Joventut for one more year and to be with my all-time club. DKV are making a competitive team and the club still has the same dynamic with Aito (Garcia) as coach, I think he will do like in the last two years, a competitive team in all of the competitions."
He can still come to the NBA, but this cannot be good news for the Blazers.
