Other teams coaches will(or already are) use a strategy that forces Banks to shoot, as opposed to allowing him to dish. With the suns, if you force them to go one-on-one or dribble alot, you have the best chance to win, it slows down the game and limits the spot up open perimeter shots. I'm sure Banks will be shadowed and forced to dribble as much as possible. Barbosa will have to move alot without the ball and make them pay for shadowing banks.

If Banks does not turn the ball over, I can live with this from a backup PG. I'm just hoping Banks still has a learning curve. IMO, the best case scenario is that he evolves more towards a KJ type player.

Wow, a KJ type player would be great, but that dont happen very often. I think the challenge for Banks will be to deal with the strategy of isolating the suns point guard. Its even been used on Nash with some limited degree of success. For Banks, it'll be tougher as his instinct is to attack rather than probe the defense. Nash keeps his dribble and probes the defense by moving around on the court and looking for holes in the help strategy.

Banks will have to learn quickly the way Barbosa could not. I think the advantage with Banks over Barbosa or House is in turnovers and finishing at the rim(he can take more bumps and still make the shot).

Right now this team is not as good as last year's, but that doesn't bother me. Either they'll get better or they won't, but what they're doing right now isn't much of an indicator one way or the other.

I really have only three questions about this team:

1. Can they be competitive on the boards?
2. Can Diaw serve as the primary playmaker when Nash is off the court?
3. Can Stoudemire contribute?

I've had low expectations for Banks all along -- I kept telling this board he was a shooting guard, until everyone else got tired of listening -- so I'm really not all that concerned about whether he ends up being effective.

Just thought I'd bump this piece of brilliant analysis. :p So far the answer to all three questions is No, and Banks has been worthless.

So this chemistry issue you see with Amare could it not carry over into other players as well?

It seems that the laws of chemistry are only focused on one player that you don't like.

And there is no way in hell Banks becomes KJ, totally different games, KJ actually was good at passing ands less the three point line "experiement" hardly shot the 3 ball. Think Marbury without a reliable jumper.

The clock is ticking soon Banks will find his place on the pine.
