Can we in reality expect to be better than 8-8 next year? That may be a reach? Even if we do everything right we have so many problems with players, managers, and ownership that I find it hard to think we can do much better than 8-8. Players are more in touch than we are which does not help the situation. It only makes it worse. What is the one most important thing this organization needs? Rule out changing ownership.

To me it is to appoint a honest to goodness General Manager with the responsibility and authority to do what General Managers normally do. Ownership can do that if they so decide. At the moment we do not even know who to blame for all that has gone wrong. This idea is hardly even a long shot but that is my opinion.

Depends on the qb position. It was huge this year. The instability there changed the quality of play in every other aspect of this team. They were absolutely dispirited early in the season.

We need a top QB number one. If we had Peyton Manning we could go to the superbowl. This team would have been in the playoffs this year if they hadn't let Boldin, Dansby and Leinart go. You can't keep letting your best players go plain and simple. We had the best wide reciever tandem in the NFL and we traded Boldin for a fourth round pick. Why not just trade Fitz for a fifth rounder this year. This organization was so stupid this past offseason it is simply amazing that we won any games at all. If we would have kept our top free agents and added a couple top free agents we would have walked away with our division and most likely we would have won about 10 games. Now we go into this offseason needing the exact same thing as we have for the last four years. Passrushers and offensive linemen, except now we need a top reciever and three tight ends and another CB.

This team had loads of money this year and did nothing with it. The only positions that we may have gotten a little better at is safety with Kerry Rhodes and Kicker with Jay Feely, but if we would have just kept Rackers and Rolle we would not have had to replace them in the first place. Instead of adding a couple of players to make us better these idiots let a bunch of our top players go. We had Boldin, Rolle and Leinart under contract. All we had to do was franchise Dansby and we kept our team together. Add a couple of free agents and back to the playoffs we go.

I really wonder sometimes how these so called football experts (GM's, Coaches, Owners ) have jobs at all or are even smart enough to keep a franchise. Its not rocket science. Added good players means you win, losing good players means you lose. It's that simple. A third grader can figure that out. This offseason is going to be huge. We will find out if this team wants to win or lose by what they do. If they pull the same nonsense as last offseason every Cardinal fan should not go to a single game. Show ownership that we will not support a losers mentality of a team.

This morning's AZ Republic has an article that tells a lot about Whisenhunt. It says that he has begun conducting exit interviews with the players and planned to give tham candid assessments of their performance in 2010. It quotes him as saying that "sometimes you get emotionally attached to players and what they've done for you in the past, and you have a tendency to overlook certain things."

Absolutely incredible. Somers says in the article, "The news is the coach might have been late in making these judgments." AMEN

Can you imagine Belechec (sic) waiting until the end of the season to tell DRC that he shouldn't be making stupid penalties or slacking off with his tackling? Can you imagine Coach Ditka putting up with the sloppy effort of players because they played well in the past?

IMO, I think Whiz was talking more about Faneca, Porter, Haggans and Hayes. I liked the way Whiz talked. He's still a young head coach and he sounds humbled by what happened and is learning from it.

To answer the question of can we be better than 8-8, at this point (before the draft, FA, etc) HELL YES we can be better than 8-8. Our division should still be weak, and if we upgrade our QB and LBs we should have a competitive team.

I think we would have been better than 8-8 if Skelton had started all year. Just mediocre, unspectacular, but stable qb play would have been huge.
