If you were a billionaire and you wanted to buy a NFL franchise and SF or Seattle were the only ones that were for sale, would you buy them? Being a die hard cards fan, would that make you think a little or would you say, heck, I'm a 9ers or Hawks fan now!

I am not sure you could buy a team for a Billion. But I guess that is not the question, I guess it depends on how bad you want to be an owner of an NFL team. But it's a business decision, not a fan one. Of course you would root for them the further they go the more money you make.

You could buy them and then intentionally destroy them.

:D

I'm not talking being a billionaire with just having a billion dollars.. Like the guy thinking of buying SF, the Oracle CEO worth $47.7 billion. He could buy a team. ;)

Sure. For either one.

I would even buy the Cowboys, but only to run the franchise into the ground.

If I was a billionaire, I'd buy a team and revoke the tickets that were resold on the secondary market.

Damn sellouts.

I think it's more complicated because the other owners have to approve you.

You should have a tie to the market the team is based in. Be the least of my problems if I had A BIILION DOLLARS....(pinky finger on side of mouth)! :D

Is that true? Saw an article calling out Ross, the owner of the Dolphins, for being an absentee owner (lives in NY).

Sure! I'd go with the 49'ers and change their name to the Frisco 49'ers.

This, and I would call Jerry Jones a genius to get constant league approval, I would get ugly cheerleaders, beg for every oversea regular season game and I would motion more holiday games for my Frisco squad, put them in pink uniforms, make Lindley my franchise guy, make Herm Edwards my coach for entertainment value... and trade all my first round picks in a venture with the Cardinals for Sowell for the next decade or two :)

Sorry to break it to everyone, but if I had the opportunity to buy an NFL team I don't give a damn which one it is I am buying it.

I used to fantasize about buying the Cards, now I think I'd have to buy the Suns.

Not even close, no way I stop rooting for the Cards. I would buy a minority share in the Cards and attend all practices etc. Have my own suite at the stadium and get involved in upgrading our cheerleading squad.

Do you know how awesome a Cardinals fan I could be if I was a billionare?

I could buy broker tickets and give them to REAL fans. Epic tailgates. I already have 'I won the lottery' plans that include the Cardinals.

This was sent from my cell pjone so please excise any typeos or other errors.

You'd put an apostrophe in their name?

Considering the people in San Francisco think using "Frisco" is like saying the F word to a nun...I don't think they'd notice. Besides, as a billionaire owner I could do whatever the heck I want and not have to worry about the Apostrophe Police. :)

If I were a big time billionaire,.............. I would invest in research,...make a badass suit,...and fight crime in the shadows of the night...... who would have time to run a football team?

I couldn't buy either team because I'm sure their fans would assassinate me after I traded their 1 through 6 draft picks for the Cards 7th round pick.

From a business standpoint, theres no better purchase than buying an NFL team. NFL is a print press. Even if buying a team took me down to my last dime, Id be right back up to a billion in no time.

I want to say San Fran, because they have the historical aspect, great uniforms, great city. But I cant stand their fans.

Seattle, on the other hand, don't like their uniforms, name, stadium, mascot. But they have really good fans.

Id choose Seattle. And change them to the Supersonics football team.
