I don't know the record for number of coaches getting fired but this could be a record year for it. 4 have already been canned in Dallas, Minny, SF, and Denver and there is plenty of speculation that there will be several more:

Cincy tough to call. Lewis should be gone but there were a ton of injuries and Mike Brown kept David Shula around a long time. 50/50
Clev: The Browns are about what was expected. It's reported that Holmgrem likes Mangini but I think Eric is gone(DC candidate for the Cards?). 75/25 fired.
Carolina: as Hawk Harrelson would say, He gawn. 100% fired(DC candidate for Cards?).
Houston: Way underachieving team. Cowher is interested. I thik Kubiak is gone and is one of the more overrated coaches around. 65/35 fired.
Miami: another possible Cowher destination.Parcells being gone only hurts Sparano. I think Sparano is a good coach but they'll likley make a bad choice and can him. 55/45 fired.
NY Giants: maybe Coughlin's time has come to and end. I think it would be a mistake to let him go. If they miss the playoffs, chances increase, obviously. I think he gets another year. 40/60 fired.
SD: they should make a change. There's no reason to keep Norv Turner around. If they can fire Schottenheimer, how can they not fire Norvis? If it were me it'd 100% fired. I'll say 55/45 fired.
Tenn: it's pretty much Fisher or Young. To me, it's a no-brainer and Fisher stays buut nobody has ever accused McNair of being a smart football guy. I think Fisher wins out in the end. 30/70 fired.
Jacksonville:It seem Del Rio is always on the hot seat and they have had a good year. But they need to do something to create a buzz with the fanbase and a new coach would be a start. Moving to LA is the next step. 35/65 fired.
Then you the wildcard firing nobody sees coming and Oakland where you never know what Al Davis is thinking.
So that's alot of openings for Russ Grimm to finally get his HC oppurtunity. :).

A few years back there were 8. I think that was the record.

The Broncos will be all history all of the time - With Elway in the front office and/or buying into the Org, Kubiak will be there (rather than in Houston) in some capacity.

Good. Maybe Grimm will be gone. I'm afraid that despite multiple years of poor performance by the O-line, and by the run game this year, he's too much Whiz' friend and too enamored of by the front office to be fired. But maybe he gets his chance this year and we can get on with some real OL coaching ability - not just experience with no ability to impart real knowledge. That would sure improve things around here quickly.

I have no problem letting Grimm go, but I don't think it's coaching that's the problem, I think he is a bad judge of personnel. It's not like the OLine doesn't TRY to do the right thing, it's that they can't perform their assigned role.

There's no reason to fire John Fox. He's in the last year of his contract right now.

Norv Turner was just extended last offseason: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4837855 That's three years they'd have to eat.

I don't think that the Cards would hire Mangini. He's the same style of coach that Bill Davis is. I think they'll look for more of a firey motivator, although I think that's a mistake.

Del Rio isn't going anywhere. The Jags are overachieving this season. Fisher isn't going anywhere either. The Titans have been ebbing and flowing since he's been there. As for Fox as a potential DC, don't count on it. If he gets fired, he might want to take a break.
