I have to admit this has been sitting in the back of my head as soon as the matchup was announced. As much as the Sea Chickens are a bunch of whining babies about the Super Bowl from 05 they really did get jobbed in that game. Makes me think the NFL wanted one of it premier franchises to get a long awaited title.

Watching that game I was sick to my stomach watching them snatch that away from the SeaHawks but rubbed salt in the wound every chance I got to SeaHawk fans....

I just hope this isn't the case for our boys....I am hoping since the Steelers got a title 2 years ago the NFL won't be as inclined to give them any gimme calls and let us beat them straight up....

Refs didn't really let Willie Parker score from 75 out, and they didn't give up that Randal-El pass.

Or throw an interception in Pitt territory, or play the role of the "soft" TE that Porter rattled dropping several balls, including a sure TD. The refs made some questionable calls but they were not bad calls. The Seahawks just got beat.
Thx for the voice of reason Mulli!

One bad call - the chop block on Hass. The rest of the calls especially the textbook push-off in the endzone were valid.

Hawks fans were naive so they blamed the refs.

Its easy to say this now (or of course if you are the team benefitting from said calls) but if we happen to be the team that suffers from some of these "either way" calls watch how all hell breaks loose.

But otherwise I am with you. Whiny Seahawks!

Come on right back at cha. :) The refs are wearing black and gold. Traditional Steeler colors. That's messed up.

It's bad enough there all going to have Terrible Towels in their back pockets. :D

As long as the refs like God and puppies, the Cards will be okay.

Since when to refs wear gold?

They do have "terrible towels" which are yellow....:)

I wasn't saying literally they were wearing black and gold. I was saying they seem to have favored the Steelers in that last game. And this is from a guy who loathes the Seahawks...

And again - Steelers colors are black and gold....

Aren't you a Sun Devil too Mulli?:)

This is awesome! So instead of some measly "make-up call", we'll get the benefit of a whole "make-up" game!

Whoo-hoo, now thanks to Warner & the Seahawks, we've got both God and the refs on our side. :D

Well, even though its been previously stated .. the Steelers didnt "benefit from blown calls" ..

1) refs didnt let FWP run for the longest run in SB history
2) refs didnt make Jerramy Stevens drop more balls than he caught
3) refs didnt let Ben throw for 3rd and 28 and actually make it ..

these are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head ... the only one I think was truly a bad call was the block call on Hasselbeck.. and that was in our favor. He was only trying to make a tackle after a pick.

If these same tihngs happened , you Cardinals fans will be whining about it too...

C'mon folks! This was 3 years ago. Instead of whining about it, just have hopes that your TEAM (not the refs) doesnt let the same things happen!

There was one seriously blown call against the Seahawks. It was the chop block.

Every other call was correct.

There was a couple big calls missed against the Steelers. Our OLB's were mugged throughout the game, yet NO holding calls were made.

Chances are, our OLB's are going to be mugged again without any penalty. It has happened all season long.

Ref's in the Steelers pockets? That is the funniest thing I have ever heard.

Unfortunately, that chop block call is in the book. I don't like it when a defender is called for it when trying to make a tackle, but it actually had been called against the Steelers earlier in that same SB season.

Bump

Just got this text from my Cousin a diehard Seahawks fan.....

"The Fix is on. McCauley (ref) to work his second ever Super Bowl. First one was 2005. Ouch"

I am not setting us up to fail here but everyone remember this thread when watching the game.

Crooked NFL;)

I don't know if your cousin meant he was the head ref or not, but McCauley did SB XXXIX (Pats vs. Eagles), Bill Leavy was the head ref for SB XL.
