It was really close. It might have bounced a split second before his foot touched. Its like a call a first base.

Another thing I would like to add is that TN could have sold it too. He just nonchalantly flipped the ball to the back judge. He could have raised his hands and jump in celebration, just to raise some doubt.

I am not sure he even knew. He might have thought it bounced off of the ground.

I didn't even notice that this happened until I saw it later. I was probably just so annoyed with Ronde Barber talking about how good the 49ers defense was on this drive. Yea, 4 PI calls in the end zone and a TD to follow. That's not exactly good defense when you are technically cheating and then give up a TD. I sure hope we never have him as a color guy again! He is the worst to listen to

ON the local post game show Eric Davis, the Ex 49er CB called them out on that. he said he didn't like Tomsula complaining about penalties and used that stretch. He said they were selling out to stop the run in there and basically if the Cards threw it was going to be a TD or a PI, it was obvious they were so geared to stop the run any pass they were exposed. That's exactly what happened, all those PI's were good calls. They figured where the ball is take the penalty, if they don't call it great, if they do, it's just back at the 1 again but we didn't give up the TD yet.

Tomsula is an interesting guy. I was surprised Arians was confused on the what down is it sequence but at least his confusion made sense, Tomsula was screaming it was 4th down because he didn't know they gave Fitz a first down several plays earlier. I can understand one play but he was 4 plays off and apparently didn't know.

At least in BAs case he was right. It should have been 2nd down because the 2 yard run on first down should have never counted due to the penalty happening prior to that play.

Wow, that is crazy.

Real close too, I would have challenged it.

yes although all he had to do was look at the down marker. But yes in his case he WAS right about what the down should have been. Tomsula was so many plays behind it was unreal.

It's clear now why he didn't challenge the spot, he didn't know they'd ruled it a first down. But if that was the case, the run by Taylor in his mind was on 4th down, they got 2 yards so how did he still think it was 4th when it was 3rd and should have been 2nd?

I was amazed they didn't challenge it looked quite short live and the Cards clearly thought it was that's why we ran the play. Barber was sayign we ran a quick play to get them subbing but that was not it, we ran the play before they could challenge the spot IMO.

After looking at it a billion times. That is a TD catch. That ball kicks off his foot before the foot goes down.

It doesn't mean squat, we won, who cares, but still that is a TD catch.

That's the way I see it too. I think the official got it wrong.

I thought it was a Niklas TD during the game. The replay is closer that I thought, but I still think the ball hits the defenders foot before any part of him comes down out of bounds. Luckily, David Johnson ran it in for the TD anyways on that drive.

Luckily, the niners gave us 47 chances to score on this possession so it didn't matter, lol.

BA in the presser pretty much went after the refs and said they did not know what they where doing. I would be shocked if the NFL did not fine him for what he said but a lot of NFL coaches need to start

Oh, he's going to get fined, I just heard it and there's no doubt. He said the refs were "fubar", his exact words, and that he was given multiple differing explanations and got tired of hearing them. Then he said he'll probably get further explanations this week from the league, "but it doesn't matter, they're wrong."

Do you have a link to a GIF by chance?

It wasn't nelson it was Golden.

And he had already tripped him and thrown him down by the helmet or facemask. They showed it on the 49er postgame show, Eric Davis was laughing about Tomsula going off on him on the sideline, said the guy figures wow I got away with 3 penalties on one play but then my coach chews my butt out.

After looking closely, it was incomplete (I think) here is a photo of the moment the ball is on his heal and his other foot is on the ground.
