this year. He commented on this during one of the interviews. I think he said move Big to LT, Shelton to LG, and Kendall to RG. Just going off memory.

Thank you for reminding the narrow minded...Endzone...that although Shelton is a good left tackle...even our GM...RG...will explore the possibility of Big playing there...not sure that your reminder will serve to satisfy those that wish to...as conraddobler said...keep there head in the sand.

I heard "someone" say that on KDUS, but I'm not sure it was Graves....I actually think it was Jurecki, who said that was the indications he was getting from the staff.

I can see moving Davis to LT and Shelton to a guard position, but why would you move Kendall to RG from LG? This would entail having (3) guys playing new positions this season.

I would think you would leave Kendall at LG and just swap Davis and Shelton to help minimize the shuffling of the deck.

I thought they had said something about Kendall playing Center, which to me makes no sense at all either.

I am almost positive that Graves said it becuase then Bill said he liked that idea.

And the theory of moving Kendall is that Kendall has played LG RG and C. And Shelton is moving to a new position so they tried to keep him on the same side of the line. But who knows they said they are "Trying" it.

And Rats I wouldn't say I was trying to remind the "narrow minded" I was just bring it up. I think it would be idiotic to trade Shelton for a chance to get Suggs. Absolutely beyon the realm of stupidity. Look what happened last year. We need Shelton Big and Clement incase one of them goes down so we can protect our QB.

Kendall has never played Center.

He was a tackle in college and has only played guard in the pros. at 6'7"+ he would be the tallest center in NFL history and i think he'd get embarassed playing there. he's just too damn tall and he wouldn't be able to play with any leverage at that position.

I don't remember Graves saying anything about moving anyone. I would be interested to see anyone verifying that.

The only comment I remember at all is Hoener saying, in his interview, that the staff was "evaluating" the offensive line, but he didn't talk about any specific moves, per se.

Certainly there has been the usual onslaught of speculations by fans, but nothing specific said by anyone in the organization.
Also the only thing I remember Graves saying that had any relevance to the O-line was something about how much money they had invested in it, but again nothing about moving any players around.

Shelton is currently the Starter at Left Tackle. Everything else is purely speculation.

Thank you.

When there's no news, it's amazing how much people speculate and fantasize.

You know Rats, I'd be careful if I were you. I simply stated on another post that a Shelton trade should be offered a long-term deal and if he declined that the Cards should consider him as trade bait and I was blasted by individuals who have no idea how to comprehend what they are reading, so when you say "narrow minded" you may want to give a complete webster's dictionary definition otherwise you will be construed as a liar, thief and who knows what else some of the idiots want to make up!

Perhaps you could explain the meaning of that sentence to those you call "idiots"...

Personally "IMHO" I think the ability to disagree in a civil manner is becomming a very rare trait.

These boards are all in fun and everyone appreciates a good natured ribbing but it's gone way beyond that.

I really am curious to know at what point people you disagree with turned automatically into "idiots, morons, etc etc."

Hey Northern Card, I wasn't referring to your posts- I totally agree with what you are saying and I don't think that there was any confusion with our opinions. I was referring to another thread.

Thanks - Peace

Hey conrad, I only think posters who respond to someone's opinions by calling that poster a name is idiotic and you are right. I joined this board about two weeks ago and I mean every time I have chosen to express my opinion those who disagree attack in a manner that is unbecoming of good sports fans. I enjoy talking football and I have been a Cards fan for 30 years. Dobler was one of my favorite players when I was a kid. I agree with your comments about Shelton as was discussed on the thread that you started, but others seem to disagree, which is okay, but when I was called a name simply because the poster didn't either understand the post or totally disagreed well then I would hope that you agree that that is pretty idiotic????

Yup. After the Colvin signing last week everyone on this board completely freaked out, grabbed the biggest anvil they could find and headed for the deepest end of the Cardinals' offseason swimming pool. So many people chimed in that they, as fans, had hit rock bottom, this was the worst off season ever, the Cardinals were going to lose like 40 games , and we had supplanted the Cincinnati Bengals as the worst organization in the history of professional sports. Missing out on Colvin was going to absolutely kill us as a football team. Hell, it even infected me; I went to work that next day and told a Broncos fan that the Cardinals missed out on Colvin, we hit rock bottom, etc, etc. That evening I went home and heard on the news that James Hodgins had signed with someone. I was like, "Oh, no! Please Be the Cardinals!" Of course, it was the Cardinals...and three other guys! Voila! The Cardinals faithful let go of their heavy anvils and swam back to the surface and gasped a much needed sigh of relief.

I guess as Cardinals fans we EXPECT the worst to happen, or as is the case in Cardinal offseasons, NOTHING to happen. So some get online and have to say SOMETHING...so fantasy and speculation is all they have to hang their hat on. Hence, the phrase, 'much ado about nothing', I guess.

While you are entitled to your opinion...the only thing we all saw last season was a busted broken down 5-11 team. The Oline is the only bright spot we had...even with the injuries we were able to begin to establish a run. However I contend Jake ran for his life because Shelton couldn't begin to stop the Strong side rush. By dealing him we will still be able to run the ball with Big at Lt and Clement at Rt...the ? is at Center and our depth should be good in case of injury...with Roundtree and Dishman currently on hand and another Vet Signing. None of this is going to matter much since our offense at this point is still a td underdog every week next year with there current makeup...that is my opinion. TO counter this we must strengthen the Defensive side of the ball. A trade to #3 for Shelton and TJ and our 3rd....would give us two Top ten picks. That would strengthn our defense. That would not be idiotic...that would not be as you say beyond the realm. Last year is last year...we need a better and stronger Defense this year....and so far no one can suggest a better plan to fix it...just whaaa whhaaa whhaaa...we need another DE to rush the qb...and a Dt to stop the Run...maybe a FA can do it....but you were right RG did say they were going to look at putting Kendall at C...and look at Big at LT...so we shall see.....I know for a fact Mac wants a better faster and more instinctive Defense...he can get this with a Newman and a Suggs...or if not Suggs then a Robertson...the D still needs help so give us a break with the "It is idiotic to trade Shelton " talk. We have to explore every option and it is my opionion that dealing him would not be a step back but could be a building block trade for Defense.........

Tango...just because your alzheimers is kicking in and you "don't remember Graves saying it" ..doesn't mean he didn't...I heard it. He said he was going to look at big at LT...and possibly moving Shelton to guard...and I now speculate that it may have to do with not having him locked up long term...and Big is locked up....so there in lies the reason. So don't make like because you didn't hear it, that those of us who did are making things up ...this pisses me off........Herbie:wave:

Given this assertion, please explain why anyone would be prepared to trade the #3 for LJ and TJ - who has been described by some as a bust?

The Texans could be willing to trade the #3 because TJ and LJ fill both of there need positions without breaking the bank like a Pace would. No one is saying that LJ is a stiff...just not a Pro Bowler...he is an accomplished Left tackle and a former 1st rounder but with what we have on the line he gets us the most in trade...TJ is not a bust...he is misused in our offense...he may never be a great pro..but I would say he will be more like a Garrison Hearst than a Mark Van Eagan...if you get it.

No ...I don't think you would because I was not refering to that statement and you feel TJ is worthless to everyone as Trade value. That is the "get it" I was refering to. You would rather be clueless than try to figure it out. But clueless or not you are entitled to your opinion. I stand by my opinion

This is an intelligent post?
A couple your "buddies" are posting complaints about people insulting others. It seems to me you all are living in glass houses and throwing rocks like crazy.
Be "pissed off" all you want. That's your choice. I didn't accuse anyone of making anything up. I simply stated I hadn't heard the comment. What's YOUR problem????
