Who was involved and when was it? I remember Ernest Dye being seriously hurt but forgot the others who were in the car. Also, was this AFTER the playoff run in '98?

It was in the summer of 1999. The worst offseason ever, BTW. I believe Lester Holmes and Carl Hairston were the other two people in the accident.

Simpson?

This thread is painful, and not because of the Card wreck. The thought of Lester Holmes, Dye, Clement, etc. makes me want to cry.

No, wasn't bad. He was terrible.

Another Offensive Tackle selected in the first round by the Arizona Cardinals.

He was so bad they thought he was Nate Poole and let him go and then brought him back.

Of course he had the misfortune of being an offensive player during Ryan's two years in Arizona.

EDIT: He wasn't as bad as Lester "Duck Jake" Holmes though.

Which makes it even more amazing that the oline in 1998 consisted of:

Lomas Brown
Chris Dishman
Aaron Graham
Lester Holmes
James Dexter

Worst Oline in Arizona?

1997

Lomas Brown
Rob Selby/Matt Joyce
Mike Devlin
Anthony Redmon
James Dexter/Joe Wolf

78 sacks and a 3.2 yards per carry rushing average. Leland McElroy was leading rusher with 424 yards. Larry Centers ran 101 times for 276 yards.
