We REALLY need to get at LEAST 1 CB in the first round or two, and another in the third or fourth.

I'd still like us to grab a vet CB... Dyson, for example.

What does Hill being gone have to do with Griffith being our starter at FS. He was going to be the starting FS regardless.

Anyways I find this move by Hill very odd. He signed a 1 year deal most likely to try and cash in next year. How is he going to do that when there is no way he even cracks the starting lineup and will even have a hard time cracking the nickel CB spot. Not saying he should have signed here for a 1 year deal but there had to be a better situation then the Raiders that he could of had more playing time with. I think he may have priced himself out of a lot of teams even giving him a call and had to settle for the best offer available with the Raiders. Unless the Raiders gaurenteed him that Woodson will be traded making him the lock to be the nickel guy and get a lot more playing time.

I am really interested to see the financials of this deal. I wonder if he is signing for basically the same amount we offered him.

I didn't like the Starks trade before, and I really don't like it now. I can't believe how thin we are sitting at cornerback right now.

Thats what MarTey Jenkins did. He barely played in ATL, and now hes out of the NFL (couldnt even make the Rattlers).

I am not as concerned with CB situation. Macklin was our #2 last year and at times our best. I must believe that Cards brass is on top of this situation. Starks was demoted and I was never enamored with Hill in the first place. Yes, we need another solid corner but we have help from our safety's. A shut down will not be necessary. We will get a macklin type, a draftee or two, and a possible June 1st casualty. This situation will be solidified.

I really beleive that the offer on the table for Hill has been on the table the whole time and was apart of the Cards FA budget. With that offer now off of the table they may now look at other FA's. Of which there are plenty of them that are just as good as Hill left out there. Not starters but very good to solid nickel Backs.

Nick Harper, Chad Scott, Andre Dysons price has dropped a lot, just to name a few.

Sort of sad when we cannot sign our own FA CB as much as we need one. I do not see any rookie FA CB replacing Hill the 1st year. To much learning involved. I would sure like to know the story behind this and hope it is not just some personality problem between DG and Hill.

We sure do need a vet CB. Rookie CB's are just not going to replace experience the first year. If they do it is pure luck or they are very superior.

It may be that Hill and Green just do not see eye to eye.

Agree with this. On this one we are digging our own grave without any help from someone else.

He's a decent back-up. And Cards made a fair offer. Realy does not have the extra speed to keep up with bigger and faster WRs. Also, at 178 lbs, he's an injury waiting to happen in a major contact situation. For the $2 - 2.5 mil he was asking, we should have qualified starter type CB. JMO.

Forget Hill, we need to trade for Henry and draft a CB in round 1. That is the easiest way to get 2 decent players in critical positions.

I guess we could always bring back Coby Reinhart. Renaldo was a good backup. Don't forget, he was on the field with Barrett in '03 when this team gave up receiving touchdown like Christmas presents.

It has everything to do with Hill thinking he is worth more then we were offering.

He is pulling a Martay. Thinks he is worth a big pay day, signs a one year deal instead of the fair multi year deal, on the idea they will hit pay dirt the next year only to find out no one is calling just like the year before. I wish him all the luck in the world and wished we still had him but he will regret not a signing the long term deal with any team(if he even got one from another team) not just us when he had a chance.

Hill was a good nickleback. We really could have used him this year, seeing as we only have 1 CB under contract.

The CB situation is getting to me--I've developed an eye tic.

I was pizzed after the Starks trade but I have come to accept it. Unless DG pulls off some miracle to greatly improve the CB spot then it is going to look very bad, but then again he is here for miracles. Isn't he??

If we get Henry, we can draft a corner in the 1st round, and there will probably be some veteren cuts around June 1. We will get some people in here to play corner.

GO CARDS!!!
