Butt Hurt over Amares Comments:

After playing in a tournament that the U.S. dominated - winning each game by an average of 39.5 points - Stoudemire was asked if it would be hard to return to the Suns. "Not at all," he answered. "I could see that if I was going back to the (Charlotte) Bobcats. I'm going back to the Phoenix Suns , baby!"

Why wouldn't he want to go back to the Bobcats? He could play with "budding" NBA superstar Adam Morrison.:sarcasm:

Dang, those guys are more negative than Suns fans! No small feat...

But really, they are making a big deal over nothing. Amare was making a joke and it gets taken all out of proportion, however true it is on paper.

I like Amare's humor. What the hell are Bobcats fans getting upset by, it's simply the truth, maybe now they have something to look forward to in this season although the chances they can beat us aren't much higher than their chances to win the finals.
It's getting pretty ridiculous when their replies to this are that Okafor is better than Amare, Wallace is better than Marion, their bench is better than ours etc

Watch out...the 3,000 fans they draw to their home games are going to boo the crap out of Amare.

Wow, wishing injury on someone who said something that was overall pretty harmless is pretty dang comical.

He probably should've kept his mouth shut with the Cats reference, but he didn't really do any damage.

Hey, I wouldn't make fun of the Bobcats.

Especially if their roster includes a rotation of Okeafor, Gerald Wallace, Jason Richardson, Raymond Felton, Matt Carroll, Sean May, and Primoz Brezec.

Sure have more depth than Phoenix. And I would not doubt the myriad of bigs on that roster stopping the lone big ranger named Amare.

Not downplaying the Suns, but just saying that it isn't nice to go around making fun of a team that has a darn good roster for the coming season.

Show some respect. Or at least deepen your bench - then talk trash.

Un-freaking-believeable...

A roster that won... 33 games last year! In the weak eastern conference! You're right. They are WAY deeper than the Suns. :doi:

I think they use brain-washing methods instead..

They want (edit: won't) be able to talk trash to us after this year . With the addition of J-Rich . We should be the better team with OK50, Wallace, and Felton , starting to peak. Teams want (edit: won't) be able to go around talking all that trash this year.

lol these threads are just classic. One Bobcat fan arguing that one reason he would take Okafor over Amare is that Okafor is marketable in AFRICA, geez.

We are not talking about the roster that one 33 games. That roster did not include Jason Richardson and healthy Okafor and Gerald Wallaces. That roster showcased Walter Herrmann, Matt Carroll, and Derek Anderson.

This season is completely different because they have improved.

How can you be so ignorant as to claim the Bobcats are not going to be an improved team?

Why make fun of a team that has made an improvement when your own team (Suns) have downgraded this offseason - in addition to unloading all their bigs.

I don't understand the logic of some fans. Respect other teams just as u'd want others to respect the Suns.

So stupid....

you know, I do think what Amare said was kinda messed up, but a comment like the above is just flat out stupid.

First off, who said they havent improved? I think everyone here agrees the addition of richardson is an obvious improvement. It doesnt make them playoff worthy though. Dont put words in other peoples' mouths.

"Respect other teams just as u'd want others to respect the suns"

Thats rich, because ive yet to see you respect the suns, yet you are criticizing suns fans' attitudes toward sub-500 teams? Dont be a hypocrite.

Why are you here? Seriously.

I just noticed your quote on the bottom and it cracked me up.

It's been there since when he was on our summer league last year. I contemplated changing it after he was let go, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. It was my one way of bringing together two of my favorite things.

Sunsman44: I find it ludicrous that anyone would claim Charlotte is a deeper team than the Suns. Barbs would be starting for many teams in the league. Same with whoever comes off the bench in Diaw or Hill. Until the 'Cats can put up a 62, 54 or 61 win season, zip it or continue to be laughed at.

Well, outside of Barbosa and Diaw, Suns don't have much to offer at the bench position. You cannot argue that.

Looking at the Bobcats, let us examine their bench in terms of scoring production. Here are some sheer numbers from ESPN during the 2007 season to rest my case:

Bench for Bobcats-

Matt Carroll, guard, 12pts per game
Walter Herrmann, forward, 9pts per game
Sean May, center, 12pts per game
Adam Morrison, forward, 12pts per game
Jeff McInnis, guard, 5pts per game
---------------------------------------
total bench production of 5 bench guys: 50pts per game average

Let us examine the same for the Suns:
Leandro Barbosa, guard, 18pts per game
Boris Diaw, forward, 10pts per game
Sean Marks, center, 2pts per game
Alando Tucker, forward, 6pts per game (estimate)
Marcus Banks, guard, 5pts per game
---------------------------------------
total bench production of 5 bench guys: 41pts per game average

Hmm. The numbers speak for themselves in terms of Suns v. Bobcats sheer bench production numbers in relation to scoring.

Weak argument. Two different systems, two different philospohies. Coach D'Antoni doesn't believe in going deep into the bench, partially because our starting 5 is so strong. That said, just because he doesn't use it doesn't mean it's not there. Case in point, Marcus Banks averaged over 11 ppg when Nash went down for 4 games in February. Jalen Rose hardly touched the court last year. Things would have been much different for him had he been with the Bobcats.

Tell that to D'Antoni. To him, anybody outside of his top-6 are all broke.

Try convincing him to play 9 guys to allow ample rest for the playoffs.

Then perhaps, just perhaps u can win a title with depth.

Oh well, it's not like San Antonio won without depth. Oh wait, they did. Whoops.

Why concern yourself with a better bench argument which only gives you nine more points when our starting 5 obliterates the competition.

On top of that, the bench argument youre making is cancelled out by your argument that their starting 5 was injured. Of course the bench got more points last year with an unhealthy wallace and okafor. The bench had to take up the slack. This was also seen in Diaw's performance in the last two seasons. Our bench didnt have to score much, we were already the highest scoring team in the league. Did you forget this?

Also, we dont have a full roster.

You have a bad argument.
