As the Vancouver Canucks embark on a crucial six-game road trip, one key member of their roster remains absent. According to Larry Brooks of the "New York Post," Filip Chytil is not with the team to start the trip. Chytil was injured against the Chicago Blackhawks on March 15 and, according to Rick Tocchet, has been in concussion protocol.

Losing Chytil is significant for multiple reasons. He plays a key role in the top six and features consistently on the power play. Chytil is also one of Vancouver's fastest skaters and often leads the team in controlled zone entries on a nightly basis.
With Chytil not travelling, he is also projected to miss what would have been his return to Madison Square Garden on Saturday. The 25-year-old was drafted by the New York Rangers and spent close to a decade with the organization before being traded to the Canucks on January 31. While there is a possibility that Chytil could still fly and meet the team in New York, the early start time and severity of the injury make it unlikely that this could happen.
Vancouver kicks off their six-game road trip on Thursday against the St. Louis Blues. This will be a massive game for both teams as each is fighting for a spot in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Puck drop is scheduled for 4:30 pm PT from the Enterprise Center.
