Las Vegas will be named one of two hub cities to host the NHL postseason, according to a report Friday by SportsNet's Chris Johnston. The NHL has not yet made the news official, but commissioner Gary Bettman said on May 26 that it would be about three weeks until the cities are finalized meaning the announcement should come soon.

Las Vegas has long been considered among the front-runners to be a hub city as an obvious location that could host multiple teams quite easily, though it may be harder to enforce the "bubble" that will be required based on whatever health and safety protocols are ultimately agreed on. It will be tough to convince players who have not been able to do much for the last few months to stay in their hotels while being isolated in Sin City.

In the ongoing saga of NHL Hub cities, we may get a formal announcement from the NHL/NHLPA as early as today. If not today, then tomorrow. Stop me if you’ve heard that before. But, for now anyway, that’s where things are at.

Coronavirus case counts in Nevada have spiked. NHL/NHLPA did more due diligence on sites over weekend. If Vegas is formally chosen, I believe it’s due in large part to Vegas bid being the best “locked down” or “protected” bubble of the six remaining candidates.

Edmonton will host the CF's and Stanley Cup Final.

With Edmonton and Toronto being chosen as the two NHL Hub cities, the question most often asked now is, which of the two will play host to the Stanley Cup final and Conference finals?

The answer, apparently, is Edmonton.

Given that a statistically significant number of Americans can't tell the difference between "public safety" and "New World Order conspiracy", moving the hubs up north was an absolute no-brainer. Good job, NHL, you got this one right.
