It appears Mitch Marner is on the cusp of a new contract with the Maple Leafs. According to TSN's Darren Dreger, Mitch Marner and the Toronto Maple Leafs agreed to a six-year deal with an AAV of $10.893 million on Friday night. The news comes less than 36 hours after general manager Kyle Dubas said the team's front office would be keeping a tight lid on contract negotiations with the 22-year-old going forward.
