This guy is the best option off the bench. Bench Barbosa so he doesn't throw up shots and make GG the go-to-guy. At least he can hit shots.

GG isnt gonna get the suns by the hornets, or the lakers, or the jazz. this series is only close because the spurs are the 4th best team in the west. Forget it, the suns cant win a championship with GG carrying them and Hill and bell injured. It would have been tough enough with everyone healthy.

I know cheese and perhaps some others will dispute this, but after bells ankle sprain he came back and was clearly hobbled. Before that sprain, he played a 10 game stint of defense that was old bell, D'ing up guys like monta ellis very well(8-22). After the injury, he looked like he couldnt D up anyone and his shooting percentage plunged from 60% in a recnt 10 game stint to 20%. Yeah, I know alot of people think he's healed, but most of them never played alot of games on a sprain after they had to be carried off the court. Those kind of sprains take a month to come all the way back from. Suns training staff say "alot of the guys are nursing injures, seems to happen this time of year but they have to play". It seems suns fans just cant accept another injury "excuse" in the playoffs, they'd rather believe something else.

no ones asking GG to "carry" them.
and we arent playing NO or Utah.
lets get past this round first.

bench barbosa, he gives us nothing on defense AND offense. his previous track record against SA says something, although some will argue his injury last season & last season only.

GG will atleast D-up.

If this series is the only one the suns can win, it doesnt matter to me whether they win it. The winner of this series gets ousted in the next round by the hornets in 5 games. With Hill hurt, the suns defensive holes are huge. nash + Amare + LB + hurt hill = terrible defense. At least amare and nash contribute to the offense, LB and hill have not.

It matters to me. At least if we can get to the second round, we wouldn't be the laughing stock of the NBA.

As we would be if we lost to the Spurs yet again.

you know, if you had played the injury card once in the last month and pointed out how gimpy Raja's looked, there'd be some credence to your opinion. Now, after getting torched in two games, it just looks like exactly what it is. An excuse.

personally, you say it seems like we can't accept another injury excuse so we'd rather believe something else, but it seems to me you that just can't accept that the Spurs are just better than us - they play better D, better offense and are run more efficiently in the regular season in order to get them ready for the playoffs when they're guys are at their freshest as opposed to our guys who break down every year.

We're not playing the Hornets, Lakers or Jazz right now. GG might be a good option for now to get us past the Spurs, Hill gets some rest and maybe Barbs comes out of his offensive slump.

Hey, it could happen.

GG is an excellent option. I want to see him get Barbosa's minutes, I want him signed this summer, and I want him to play a bigger roll next year.

It's too late for this year. Suns ain't winning 4 out of 5 games against the Spurs, unless a series of miracles happen- Barbosa pulling his head out of his ass, Bell playing some D and knocking down some shots, Dirty Diaw realizing he has balls, and Mike learning how to coach.

Yeah, and Ginobilli and Parker could get food poisoning, Duncan could get bit by a rabid dog, and Pop could fall down the stairs and get amnesia.

And thank heavens we're not. Those teams are much superior offensively than the Spurs who are making us look like a Big Sky team on that end.

LA, NO, and Utah would be putting up 130 a night against us.

Yeah and blowing us out by 30! I have no interest in watching this suns team go against the hornets int he next round.

I'm all for Gordan getting more time on the court, especially if LB is ineffective. If Hill can only play 1/2 a game then I'd hold him out of the 1st half and save him for the 2nd half of the game and start GG in his place.

I certainly support the idea of playing GG more often.
But everything positive about him has been said. I think he suprised most of us who expected a one-dimensional, soft shooter and got an aggressive wing man who loves to take it to the rim and plays defense.

Definitely somebody I'd like to see in a Suns uni next year.

Me too. I just don't think D'Antoni thinks he is better than Leandro, Diaw or Bell. Those are his guys, his favorites and he is going to ride them to the end whenever that is.

completely agree and I'm guessing that end is Sunday. When Shaq's teams lose, more often than not it seems like they get swept for some reason.
