Ugh....

And i saw someone else post on here that Mayo agreed to a 2yr 16.5M deal with indiana today? I havent found that report anywhere aside from the guy who posted it.

If this is the case then maybe bayless/lottery:bang:

We were lotto bound either way. I just hope they dont do something really dumb with their remaining cap space.

I'd throw $6 or $7 million per year at Mayo, but no more.

Adding Mayo at $7 mil per season would put the Suns payroll at $51-$52 mil including Childress and Warrick. If the Suns get Lopez for a decent price, then we could still conceivably have a max spot available for next season by letting Warrick expire and amnestying Childress. It would be tough with potentially two rookie contracts coming in and annual increases across the board, but still possible if worked properly by the front office.

I'd try to sign Brown or Redd for a year, and go after Harden next year. Earn a top five pick in the process. :)

I'm not too disappointed. It might be for the best to tank properly, get a few high lotto picks over the next seaons to form a foundation and then use all that cap space to attract some star players.

I'm kind of glad. I liked Gordon but the injuries were too much to ignore.

Very disappointing, but not as disappointing as the thought of re-signing shannon brown.

Oh man.. We need to stay away from Harden..

You know what.. At this point I don't have faith in anything the Suns do or might do.. All this money was saved for this summer to get some top FAs .. Only the top ones were resigned and we were left with B players..

If we end up sucking hardcore, I'm convinced they will muff up the draft pick anyways.. So it's not like sucking is any guarantee we will get something good for sucking..

This FO is incompetent .. It's a complete failure.. I have zero faith..

With Gordon's history he would have had a larger impact on our cap figure than the win column. Not getting him is a win IMO.

I know I would feel better not getting Gordon after considering CAP space further. Also I do not want to give up assets in a sign and trade for him.

‏@ESPNSteinLine: If Hornets match PHX offer sheet to Eric Gordon, as they've vowed, desert sources say this is definite: OJ Mayo will be courted hard by Suns.

Maybe that reported deal with Indiana is wrong?

I was waiting until it was reported by a more mainstream source before I believed it.

the next SteinLine should be: Sources say Suns will give boatloads of money to any name player still available, thus making sure they'll be mediocre forever and continue on with the ineptitude from their front office that we all expect.

seriously... we're gonna go hog wild this summer and choke our cap with Goran Dragic/Beasely/Mayo? If they sign Mayo for anything more than 14 mill for 2 years, I'll freaking puke.

Trade Gortat, re-sign Robin and bring in Jason Thompson and have an entire 2008 starting line-up!

Thompson
Beasley

Dragic

I guarantee you that Mayo already knows exactly what Phoenix is going to offer him. He is probably using it as negotiating leverage against Indy. Expect Phoenix to offer him slightly more than what Indy does. All he has to do is bet that NO is going to resign Gordon. Then he can enjoy the bidding war. He and Gordon have the same agent.

I like Mayo. Hope we don't pay too much though.

They should spend some of the money on Mayo and maybe Anthony Randolph and Terrence Williams if the price is right.

Jason Thompson re-signed for 6M$ starting with the Kings.

Losing out on Gordon doesn't hurt much, we would have been bad with or without him. Better be very bad than so-so bad. Michael Beasley will score buckets.

I'd actually like Randolph. He is the kind of gamble I could get behind, and I cant imagine his price being too bad.

You better positioned yourself in front of a toilet because he's definitely getting more than that. Supposedly the offer from Indiana was $17 million/2 years, wasn't it? I was actually warming up a little to the Eric Gordon/Dragic back court even though I was worried about Gordon's ability to stay healthy. The problem is that I don't see these guys ever be worth more than their contracts. I think there's a very good chance they will be negative assets. OJ Mayo at $9 million per season it is going to be the same situation.

I'd actually like Randolph. He is the kind of gamble I could get behind, and I cant imagine his price being too bad.

I wouldn't mind Randolph either if it was a short deal with a team option. Low risk high reward. If we are going to lose a lot I would like to see young players who have a chance to get better.
