Ricci questionable for camp

The Coyotes announced their training camp roster Tuesday and veteran center Mike Ricci was among the players on the list.
But Ricci may not be able to take the ice when workouts begin Sept. 15 because of a neck injury he suffered while training off the ice earlier this summer.
Team officials on Tuesday revealed that Ricci had surgery on a protruding disk in late June. The surgery eliminated the pain he was suffering, but Ricci was inactive for about six weeks after the operation and is behind on his off-season conditioning.
"He'll probably begin the year on the injured reserve list," General Manager Mike Barnett said. "...We have to be smart about this."
Ricci has not been medically cleared to skate yet, but he may be given the OK this week.
