ESPN just reported that Jason Richardson was arrested last night in Scottsdale for reckless driving. He was going 90 in a 35, IIRC. His 3 year old was also riding unrestrained. WTF Jason!

Article is below.

Suns guard Jason Richardson was arrested in Scottsdale after police say he was driving 55 mph above the limit with his unrestrained 3-year-old son in the car.

Scottsdale police say an officer first saw Richardson, 28, driving 67 mph in a 40 mph zone Sunday night and followed him.

That's when the officer clocked him at 90 mph in a 35 mph zone and pulled him over.

Police say Richardson admitted to speeding and identified himself as a Suns player. The officer saw Richardson's son in the back seat of the car and that he was not in a child seat.

Richardson said he had taken his son to dinner and was on his way home.

He was arrested and booked on charges of reckless driving, excessive speeding and failure to use a child seat. He was released from jail after a few hours.

yea I just saw that on ESPN.

My first thought, okay, everyone speeds ... but 55 miles over ??
Plus with his 3 year old unrestrained ??

Not looking good after his DUI

He better repay that with some good performance on the court otherwise his popularity will be going down

meh, if it wasn't for his child being in the car this is a non story. Everyone speeds.

Disagree. He got a DUI when he first arrived here in Phoenix. I like Richardson, but the guy seems to be clueless. The Suns definitely don't need to be dealing with this right now. Jerry would trade his ass after two screw-ups like this.

Yes! If he plays well, then who cares how many lives he endangers?!

lol, winning definitely cures whatever problems you may have .. hahahha

on a serious note, speeding isn't that bad in my opinoin, but when going 90mph on a small 1-2 lane street and he endangers a 3-year old, its another story

Yes, everyone speeds, but I don't think I've ever gone anywhere close to 55 mph over the speed limit. And he's doing this with no car seat for his 3 year old. I have a 3 year, and I can't imagine putting her in that kind of position. That's strike two for J-Rich. And talk about some horrible timing.

There is a difference between speeding, which a majority of people do, and going 90 in a 35, which is incredibly rare and highly reckless for both him and anyone else on that street. Then to have his 3 year old without a child seat makes it just reprehensible.

If JC still owned this team Richardson would be sent packing in a trade (after 2 arrests). I doubt Sarver does a thing about this.

Honestly guys dont call cps on me or anything but my three year old is constantly getting out of his car seat while Im driving. I am not trying to justify it but it is very frustrating. that being said I would probably not be going 90 knowing my son has a tendancy of getting out of his seat.

The trick is, you also need to use the seat belt. Your owner's manual probably clarifies that.

Plus, if these are the things people want to trade a player AWAY for, what makes them think another team would want him?

By the way, it is alleged that he was doing 90 in a 35, no? Don't just take the cop's word for it.

So we trade Dirty Scottsdale Boris for Speedy Scottsdale Jason.

Maybe the Suns should tell their guys to stay out of Scottsdale past midnight.

Honestly the Suns are like watching a turd spiraling down a toilet right now.

They stink and are spreading crap all over.

I am not advocating trading Jason just saying that I am curious to see what happens based on the Suns history with players who get into trouble.

By the way, it's not like I think Jason is a horrible guy but he made one hell of a mistake if the report of his 3 year old in the car is true. I can't imagine taking that risk with my kids.

Wasn't an issue for Kidd, Artest, etc

And I hate cops more than most people, but not taking the cops' word on a speedometer charge of that magnitude is pretty silly. If anything, once it gets to the criminal level, they've been known to shave a few points off

WTF Richardson, you're obviously not good at driving, why not hire someone to do it for you? Im a speeder and I dont think ive EVER done 90 in a 35, and I know i will never do it with my kid in the car!

Now, was the child completely unrestrained, or seatbelted and not in a booster seat?
