I don't think Kurt really cares if Boldin stays or not, at least not enough for it to impact his decision.

Kurt makes every WR he plays with all-pro.. even Urban, if he knew how to hold on to the ball.

My personal belief is we (humans) generally make up our minds and then decide to ask what we should do. So, for the most part, we have it backwards. We just like to pretend otherwise. If we avoid this pitfall, the answer will come in the form which our level of understanding will permit. jmho

I just saw Rick Reilly interviewed on SportsCenter.

"I think he's just tired of playing on teams with bad defense where all the pressure falls on him."

Also, that Kurt "wants to play in a basketball league" since he was a pretty good high school bb player.

He may want to host a radio show, go into politics, or write books.
I think Kurt doesn't actually know what he wants yet, but it's definitely not football.

I'm not sure why most people are convinced he's going to retire maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part. But after I saw in one of his interviews he would not count out playing after next season let alone next season it leads me to believe he's going to at least give it one more year.

You never get anything of value from a beat up player after a painfull end of season loss.Reilly is risking whatever friendship he thought he had with Kurt.

Kurt will decide only after talking to Whiz out of respect.Surely he'll ask what the plans are for protection this next year.Very dissapointed in Reilly just trying to get a story out there then giving 8-5 odds on his retirement.

No offense but I love Warner and will always think of him as a cardinal and hope he goes into the hall as one.

But I am ready to implement Whiz's team. A team that resembles the Jets more than the old Rams. Pounding the ball and playing bigtime defense. Will have to wait two years for the Defense after Davis gets fired next year.

This is a perfect fit for Leinart who I see to be a better Sanchez.

I am in total agreement: I'm all for one more year with Warner, but I'm also really excited to Whiz' true vision take form.

Kurt needs a little time decide. It's like when people are so anxious to get out of town for a vacation, and are almost considering moving--but after the right amount of rest they are excited to go back. He could be back.

What a moron Reilly is for even interviewing him after a crushing loss, what the hell does he think he is going to say? Just dumb, anyway after a few weeks of healing and getting back to feeling normal and moving on from the season ending loss Kurts' decision will not be as emotional as the day after the game. We will know something a few weeks down the line. Guys say emotional stuff like Ed Reed saying he thinks he is going to retire...really do you think that will happen? No its not going to happen and Kurt will feel better in a few weeks as well, again the fact this interview was a day or two after the playoff loss Reilly is a moron but sure he got the article he WANTED to get.

Reilly hung out with him for over a week when he wrote the article. I doubt that it changes anyone's mind but I wanted to point out that fact.

Personally I think he will hang it up. He will miss the games but I don't think the thing he will miss one bit is all the preparation (training camp, 2 a days, practice throughout the week, etc). That's what stood out in the article to me.

What stood out to me was the thing about being tired of playing with bad defenses and carrying all the burden.

For all the talk that Kurt just likes to fling it around and outscore opponents - apparently not true.

Maybe if they promise to upgrade the defense he will consider coming back?

Kurt's in a good spot to decide. Sure he wants to bring a championship to Arizona, but he has one himself. And during the last two years the conversation has gone from "IS Kurt a hall of famer" to "Kurt IS a hall of famer." Even though he lost to the Sainst, people won't remember that much compared to 5 TDs and 4 imcompletions in the previous game. His legacy is assured.

Please show me proof he was in the midst of hanging with Kurt while Kurts focused like a lasor on the playoff game?I saw the Rielly coming home special he did of Kurt Warner but he spent the week with him THEN and how does he get access to a teams starting qb during all the private meetings and practices during a divisional Playoff game?

I understood Reilly sat down with Kurt after this game as he said he did and got this interview from being a past journalist and so called aquaintance.Kurt wins the award every year for giving #1 access to himself AFTER and BEFORE games. Not during the week of preperation for a key Playoff game.

I understand after reading many of your posts through the years that you are more than anxious to see your guy Matt get his shot at the NFL.Kinda slants your view as my view is slanted due to my friendship with Kurt.

I assure you Kurt & Brenda Laughed when they heard he had already made a decision when even they don't know yet what the decision is gonna be.Reilly gave an 8-5 gamble that Kurt would retire.Thats nothing but his personal opinion from one interview right after a very tough season ending loss. Not a good time to get a very accurate feeling of what is to come.

He may GUESS right. He has a 50-50 shot huh?I see no reason for Kurt to return with so many contracts in flux and spots to fill on the team and GM Graves isn't known for moving fast on anything.Kurt will talk with Whiz on his future and the future of the team as Kurt promised to leave the team better than when he arrived.

Personally I'd like to see some movement on extending Coach Whiz and maybe Lott also. The other contracts like Rolle's situation will need some early movement on which way the team wants to go.Graves needs to SPEED up this year as the team is depending on HIM more than ever before to get many, many things done this offseason before the CARDINALS play again.I hope Billy B. has his eyes on how fast and efficient Graves moves for His team.

Rielly is no more than just another reporter in Kurts Life. There are already 6 books written on Kurt Warner with the help of other writers and reporters. The latest by Kurt & Brenda themselves with the help of another author. They deserved to get in on the action. We'll all know at the same time as GOD does'nt always move instantly when your seeking an answer from HIM!!!

I don't know anything about Rick Reilly and wouldn't know him if I bumped into him at Taco Bell, but his first paragraph is pretty much lifted from the first two pages of Kurt and Brenda's book. Which makes me wonder about his talent as a writer and question his skills as a reporter.

Great find and you said more than a mouthfull by saying what you just said about Reilly.I'm sure Kurt & Brenda see him as desperate at this moment of real prayer and bigtime decision making to wrap it all up in what Rick obtained in an aftergame and end of season playoff game interview while also super sore and injured.

Now you even prove he lifted his words from a previously written book.

Can it get worse than this for the editorial importance of espn's writers?Especially when he ended it with an 8-5 bet he retires.Kurt should come back just to make him even look worse.:)

Well we're reaching here. I pointed out that to show he was with him for a fairly long period of time (1 week). Maybe was still too emotional from the game, maybe he wasn't. Its hard to tell what is going on in Kurt's mind.

I also brought up the point about him not doing the offseason workouts because no matter what our front office does, he will have to do it. Its this part of the grind that is a determining factor with a lot of players for when they retire.

This had nothing to do with "my guy" getting the starting nod instead of Warner.

I have no problem with Warner coming back but I don't think he's going to.

I don;t think its a reach for you to prove what you said in an earlier post that Rick Reilly was with Kurt Warner the full week he was preparing for a divisional playoff game. The time Warner would of had with meetings and film study and practices would fit in a hello and goodbye to his wife and kids much less time to relay facts to espn's rick rielly. Its pure NONSENSE to put it nicely.

I also notice you did'nt provide proof reilly was with Warner for the week gaining insight on his retiring either. It's not reaching when someone says something you just ask for PROOF.I know the team would'nt have allowed access to it to begin with.

I also know your guy is part of every Warner post in the background of it as you'd love to see him get his chance before the big money decision has to be made the year after next on keeping Matt.

I know Kurt said he'd take about 2 weeks and that probably won't change.Rumors abound as the craigslist nonsense that was posted earlier that 4 days after the game they decided to end Kurts career and Brenda was supposedly on the phone chatting it up with a girlfriend and telling her everything.LOL

What did you point out that proves reilly was with Warner one week or more? I'm still waiting on that proof.Outsiders just don't get to spend the week with the teams starting qb when hes studying and preparing for a divisional playoff opponent and the crucialness of the circumstances.Prove reilly had access to that. You can't.The CARDINALS would'nt of allowed it.They would never be a part of a reilly reality show.Especially not allowing espn access.Give me a friggin break.:(

Plus when has Kurt Warner NOT done the entire offseason workout program that keeps him in shape to play a whole season. He has every year of his football life and NEVER has he asked NOT to do the offseason training. He was there everyday except for the days he and Brenda had booksigning dates. Now I think someone else is reaching and even adding to it.Warner has NEVER asked the team to let him miss getting in shape for the season at his age. He's not lost his mind too.:)By now I'm sure he knows how hard he has to work at his age to catch up to the young kids and it showed this season that he was still in shape up to the playoffs and through them.Look at the Packers game for proof.Sheesh.

I hope your guy Matt gets to play next year or you might have a meltdown.:D

LOL! Except we both know Kurt is way too classy to do that. ;)

You knew I was teasing. You know too much as it is about me.We're old pals as it seems. We've probably met and did'nt know it.At least been in the same place many, many times.Glad we have that to share.I always enjoy your thoughts in the threads also. You know your stuff like my wonderfull wife does too.

She's my secret weapon.Yep your right about Kurt doing anything for spite. But I think we both would be very happy if he made Coach Whiz happy and came back for one year of defensive transition.Who knows maybe we get lucky with a schedule that looks very tough from the appearance right now.Plus being penalized this year as one of 8 teams that can't do much if anything in free agency.

I'm worried this may be a clashing of heads year with Whiz and Graves if things don't move to Head Coach's speed. We needed to get to this point at sometime anyway.Like the idea of letting Lott go for probably a small amount of money.Who knows? What could he be asking for?

I see more decisions on the horizon this offseason than the last 5 put together. Each one must be the right decision too.In Whiz we trust. At least we did'nt lose Grimm.A good RB coach can be found.Lets get Marshall Faulk to give up his gig at the NFL Network. That guy could coach a team if he wanted. He knows offense and his defense.Highly respected football mind.Kurt has already said he could care less about coaching ever.So we'll never see that.

I just hope that if Kurt retires, what he shared over the years has rubbed off on Matt somehow once its all on his shoulders.

Wish someway we could retain Dansby.Shame he thinks he is worth so much money. That Packer game did'nt help much when he did so much to help us win the game.Just wait till he's healthy again.Thats gonna take a while and he might need some shoulder surgery.Buyer beware.

Gabe Watson needs to get his knee 100% for this next year and Breaston too. Both need to be checked out fully so nothing pops up again next season.

Its gonna be a sad day to see the list of cuts to follow Bertrand Berry's retirement. Some very sad times ahead indeed. The injury bug just bit us too hard at the wrong time starting with Ware.I also know we could have won 3 of our other games this year,of which I won't mention specifically which ones I think we should'nt have lost. All water under the bridge and a great team chemistry is gone. Now to form a new one that is more full of speed and attack.Gonna take some great scouts to fill our roster like we had at the begining of this last season.Every spot was barely won.

Gotta get home field back next year too.Thought the road warrior mentality was for a reason this year.Turned out it was pie in the sky.But a start to future growth.I'm excited but sad like every year.GOD still has'nt taken away my love for the game.I do pray he does though. He's just not in any hurry with me.Maybe not for Kurt either.:)

I was the small blonde lady behind you in line when you guys were ordering the 20 buckets of wings at the Col. Saunders on Lincoln. ;)

I would hear you guys talk about who was late for team meetings or who was banged up and then go see my dad and fill him in on all the inside stuff. Oh my, he loved that team! Those were the days when all the old guys would sit on their folding chairs at the Dad Miller golf course and watch the team practice then turn around and watch this little kid named Tiger Woods and his dad go by.

Good memories.
