Rick Springfield Charged with Two Counts of Driving Under the Influence

Rick Springfield, a Malibu resident and singer of the 1981 hit “Jessie's Girl,” is being arraigned next week on two misdemeanor DUI charges stemming from a May arrest.

The formal charges were filed on May 24, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. TMZ broke the story early Friday morning.

Springfield will not be charged with threatening an officer. He was apparently steamed when a deputy involved in the arrest told him that they were going to tow his 1963 Corvette Stingray.

“If you tow my car I will (expletive) kill you and your family," Springfield reportedly uttered at the time.
