Long time sportscaster Greg Gumbel passed away today at 78. I remember watching him a lot back in the day on CBS and NBC for the NFL and other sports. RIP

Really came totally out of left field and looked at pictures as he didn't look really good and looked not so well when they spoke of him tonight. Cancer is a pain in the a*s! RIP Greg and prayers and thoughts with you and your family.

I remember the first time I saw him on tv...I was looking the other way when they named the announcers and I was like, "Greg? Wudafuq is Greg? I thought dudes name is Bryant?"
Turns out, it wasn't the same dude....

Liked Greg much better than Bryant.

Highly effective, yet highly underrated broadcaster. I never understood why he wasn’t more highly regarded.
