I always wished Tom Dillon continued to be our announcer. I loved hearing that guy call our games. I liked when he'd say something like "Ricky Watters, hit in the mouth and dropped!" What a sad day. 65 is not very old. RIP Tom Dillon.

RIP Tom :(

I still have the audio file of his call on the field goal that sent us to the playoffs in 1998.

Good person, excelent sportscaster. He will be missed. I too thought he should have been allowed to stay with the team.

Spent many an hour listening to Tom Dillon call ASU Baseball and Cardinal football. He was one of the best and will be missed.

Tom was the voice of the Cardinals to me and many others when we became Cardinal fans. The home games were rarely sold out and shown on TV so we lived the games through Tom and he did an excellent job of describing the game action. He is a local legend along with Al McCoy and will be missed by all Cardinal and ASU fans.

Wow! I grew up listening to Tom Dillon call everything ASU. I remember him calling baseball back in the Barry Bonds days.

"Good wood, good distance, Good-bye!" One of my favorites.

Remembering his call of the '97 Rose Bowl still gives me chills. "Plummer scores!"

RIP Tom, you will be missed.

3 things:

1. I lived in phoenix from 1996 to 2002 and absolutely loved listening to tom dillon call asu and cards games. "he scores!" was a favorite of mine. although he is okay, dave pasch doesn't have the voice that dillon did.

2. i think someone said they had audio of dillion's 1998 jacke field goal call. i would LOVE to have that now. please send to me!!!! or any other dillon calls would be fantastic - especially the plummer rose bowl td!

3. why in the hell does azcardinals.com have NOTHING on the passing of a former broadcaster of the team? didn't he do it for like 11 years? that is very very unclassy...

I'm disappointed there was no mention of it on the Cardinals website. I'd like to see a tribute to him before the game on Sunday.

RIP TD.

When I was a kid my family couldn't always afford to go to the Cardinals games.

I always remember sitting in my bedroom on sundays listening to the Cardinals home games (because they were NEVER on TV)

I was actually talking about him to my buddy before the Giants game.

RIP Tom, miss ya already buddy.
