Well duh you should know. You should know me well enough by now ;)

If autopsy reports come back with some surprise(which I highly doubt) I'll recant. But until then hard to feel bad for her personally. You reap what you sow.

Some people have things they can't conquer. I know and love some of those people. I pray that you never know how it feels to lose a loved one to addiction (which I am guessing you are predicting Whitney lost her life to).

I have loved ones that fight addiction. My mother and sister both. One of the reasons i feel the way I do. Blood doesn't change it for me.

I like to think that it's just a statement and philosophy to live by.

Which just happens to be Matthew 7:1. One of the most often "quoted out of context" bible verses. Gotcha.

It's just something Skkorp didn't want out on the sports' boards.

Okay, so back to celebrating Whitney's music:

We've also been forbidden from using a particular name to drive home a point. Just sayin :)

It's cool. I already changed it. For the record though, I wasn't posting in the "sports board."

Uh, yeah. I left the site briefly years back to protest Skkorp's rule on this - and that was just over posting political wisecracks from late-night hosts. He was adamant about no political or religious signatures. He even included "religious messages." I eventually came around since it was his site and all.

Skkorp's own words

It's a zero tolerance policy so I just thought I'd mention it here rather than report it...

Uh, I know that, but your signature appears in any previous/future posts you made/make on the sports board... I thought at first you just added it in your post until I quoted you and saw it was your sig. No worries.

But it wasn't her signature - it was a phrase (from a religious source, granted). I am not religious at all and I didn't see anything wrong with it. And damn you have a good memory, pulling up Skkorp's posts like that. Unreal, dude!

That is sad.

She just filmed a movie "Sparkle" w/Jordin Sparks, which will be released in Aug sometime.

It's not a major deal.

I still think it is funny that we have a P&R forum which is EXTREMELY obnoxious yet we police other areas of the board for religious and political statements. Just saying.

Isolation at its best. Keeping those volatile topics in one place and not all over the other boards. :D

Just saying what?

P&R is a craphole so that obnoxious stuff doesn't flow over to the main board (which avs and sigs do).

Do what I do and just ignore that forum.

Just saying. (And I do, for the most part, ignore that forum).

Rest in Peace, Whitney.

Wow, I was literally jaw dropped by this news.

I mean, not THAT surprising in retrospect but not remotely expected.

Whit had PIPES. Amazing talent.

Back in the '84-'86 timeframe, when I was painting homes with my uncle, I would carry my little transistor radio tuned to WPLJ in NYC... Whitney was a staple and would dominate the airwaves then. She got me trough hundreds of boaring days spent painting walls and ceilings. God Bless you Whitney...
We all possess our own demons... greed, additiction, insecurities... we all battle ourselves each day. And we allow the demons to take control whenever we feel unloved or unvalidated.
I pray that all of us can one day learn to accept the Greatest Love of All, as when we do - it's truly transformational.
How sad that the one who made a song so famous, never was able to understand and grasp that type of immense, overwhelming, unconditional and unrelenting love... :(

This. I was thinking about that ever since I heard the news.

I'm very sad. I loved, loved, loved her voice. When things went downhill with her with her drug use, I was so angry because I felt like her voice was stolen from me, lol.

Now, I'm sad and angry.

Stupid Bobby Brown.
