After Stefon Diggs signed with the New England Patriots Tuesday, a couple of the team's legendary former players gave their two cents on the deal.

Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman, who each won three Super Bowls during their time in Foxborough, weighed in on Diggs joining the team on their podcast, "Dudes on Dudes."

Diggs, who most recently played for the Houston Texans, agreed to terms with the Patriots on a three-year, $69 million contract with $26 million guaranteed.

"I like Stefon Diggs joining New England − that situation," Edelman said. "Because Stefon Diggs is still pissed off at the Bills."

Edelman said he thinks the Diggs acquisition will provide much-needed motivation for New England's younger players, especially other receivers.

"They have a lot of young football players there," he said. "It would be really good for these younger guys to be able to see how a professional works daily, how a professional prepares daily, how a professional takes care of his body."

He added, "No one ever second guesses how hard he works and the amount of work that he puts into his craft."

Gronkowski also said he thinks it was "the right move" for the Patriots to get Diggs.

"New England needs a guy. They need wide receivers, they need a number one," he said. "Stefon Diggs might not be that number one, but he'll at least be a solid number two, and I'm sure he's got some big play-making ability still left in the tank."
