Well as a person, I hope he gets well. As far as the team goes, they won't miss him. Heck Ill be glad I wont have to suffer through watching him.

Actually, this could be really good for us. Typically, when a big guy has a screw inserted into his foot he not only comes back soon; he comes back quicker, stronger and better.

I wasn't counting on Lopez although I thought he might give the Suns a few minutes upfront. This does expose how thin the Suns are at the 4/5. There is not any cushion for further injuries at this position.

I'll disagree with you on that.

I'll take the big guys with foot injuries that never recover, and you take the ones that do recover and are better. Wanna bet who wins?

I tend to agree with you. No foot injury is good especially for a big man. However, didn't Dan Majerle have all kinds of pins placed in an ankle and have a nice career (although he wasn't a big man). I believe it happened even before the Suns drafted him.

I'm pretty sure AzStevenCal's statement was pure sarcasm.

On the bright side this may force us to bring another big man. Not that there's any out there worth bringing in for the price we are willing to pay

On the dark side this may severely hamper any progress that Lopez was making. It will be hard for him to come in a few weeks into the season to gel with teammates and earn playing time. With how thin we are up front, we really need him to contribute.

Even though Lopez wasn't supposed to be a huge contributor, this leaves only 4 big bodies on the team. I wouldn't mind bringing back Courtney Sims as an insurance big in a not fully guaranteed contract.

As of right now

Amare/Clark
Frye/Lou

We might see a lot more small lineup with Dudley at the 4 before Gentry gives a shot at Clark.

This might be good news in the sense that it may force us to bring in a big man.

The Suns will spend more cash? It is more likely Earl Clark will be rotating at the 4/5.

I really hope your right Folster.

this stinks, I was thinking he might be a pleasant (not a big) surprise.

Yeah, I don't see the Suns signing another player. What this means is that Taylor Griffin won't be sent down to the D-League for awhile and will get to be on the active roster.

While they are at it they should put springs in his feet. I'm not sure Robyn could jump a phone book.

We will be fine. Lopez is not a big loss at all. I think this means more playing time for players that were on the playing time bubble so to speak. I hope he recovers but big men with foot problems is never a good combination it usually comes back to haunt them again down the road.

Nice. I could picture this happening...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HofoK_QQxGc

That's too bad to hear. He is a young guy, and this might just linger his whole career... or in other words, until this contract plays out.

Lopez is a young big man that has potential to develop. This is not a good thing.

I don't see how anyone could think this is good. Lopez is only real Center we have and he DESPERATELY needed the preseason.
