Kingdad:
Do you just post and not read what people respond to your previous post with?
It's a serious question because I took the time to respond to your last, very long, post comment by comment and I find myself doing it again purely out of frustration.
So could you please do us a favour and read your feedback going forward? Thanks. It's the basis of any rational discussion..
For the second time: He's taken a team from 17th to 3rd in less than one season, provided a system that has pumped Harden's assist average to >6 above his career average meaning he's in the running to be MVP. Houston are genuine title contenders this year in DA's first season.
Do you think this is luck or a fluke? Or is it Harden? If it is just Harden and nothing to do with MDA, then what has Harden done differently to last year when he couldn't get his team into the playoffs?
Did you not read the evidence the board provided over and over again to show that there were decent probable mitigating circumstances in LA and NYC?
Conclusion: d'Antoni does well in certain situations i.e. has a playmaker at PG (he had one in Lin in NYC but Carmelo got small man syndrome over it) and no egos (i.e. Kobe and Carmelo) who resist buying into his system.
By all means provide counter arguments and we''ll listen.
Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James...really not sure what you're getting at.
Do you have a crystal ball because you seem to like making bold predictions that you can't prove? Again, it's Harden's first season under MDA / MDA's first season with Harden.
I suppose if you said "My guess is they'll shut Harden down" I could by into that but to say it the way you do....you sound like a fortune teller, and no one likes fortune tellers especially when the evidence is stacked against them.
They finished 17th last year (for the second time).
It's > 1/3 (37%), that's a decent enough sample size.
They're on track to win 60.
That's your opinion, great, by all means have one, but acknowledging a poster's arguments and then providing evidence against those (as I have done you the courtesy multiple times) is a great way to argue rather than just trotting out MDA cliches that were probably absorbed by you reading the anti-MDA posters on this board over the years.
And there is nothing wrong with having a good, fun team to watch (and there's a probable correlation between the two) - we have neither, sadly.
I think i'm concluding also I have too much time on my hands - this is the last time Kingdad!
