Gotta say - with Chriss and Ulis both looking great, Bender not looking like a bust and Booker being Booker...Any thoughts about not extending McD are pretty much erased in my mind.

I agree. He's made mistakes but McD has made some slam dunks too. Getting Chriss and Bender in the draft last year was a thing of beauty. Booker was the steal of the draft when he came out. Warren and Ulis are both solid. Plus McDonough has handled this tank well and is setting us up nicely.

I'd be scared to get rid of McDonough at this point. I think he has a good vision of where he wants to see the suns go and a strategic enough mind to get them there.

It totally was - I remember asking this board before the draft if there was any way we could trade up to get Chriss and Jaylen Brown and got a very flat response. That he pulled it off was very impressive.

Ulis is just icing on the cake.

He's super intriguing as it looks like he can probably play all positions 3 - 5 - he can dribble and is fast enough to get down the court and be a defensive match-up nightmare at the 3 spot and is long enough for the 5.

His inside offensive moves look a little stiff - which if you had a reason to be concerned it's this - but he shouldn't be a scoring liability as he can hit the three and post up smaller players with ease.

Any stiffness in his moves with the ball or inconsistincy with his shot do not worry me at all, he's 19 I'll give him several years to work that out.

I like what McD has done too. This team just needs to mature. I actually think the future is bright just drafting players and letting them develop. Trades and FA signings are not essential at this moment. Imagine, in this draft adding Fultz or Ball and then picking up Jordan Bell in the second round. I do think Bell will have an NBA career. His defensive versatility is amazing.

At that point, Bledsoe and Knight are potential trade candidates. Add to that the Miami picks and we have something to pick up a big maybe.

Free agency is a possibility. We can easily sign a max player. The future is loaded.

To me, the only really big question is whether Earl Watson can coach a winning team.

I think you guys are putting too much stock in positions. Having versatile players like Bender and Chriss allows us to not worry about positions and just play the 5 best players. If we want to go big we can have Chriss and Bender on the floor with a big man and if we want to go smaller we can have those two on the floor with 3 guards or 2 guards and another wing.

Bottom line is that the NBA is moving more and more towards position-less basketball and the Suns appear to be following suit. Now it's time for the fans to stop harping on positions so much and it will have come full circle.

After watching the tournament, I am convinced more and more that the reason teams are moving toward "positionless" basketball is because guards these days are ball hogs and don't know how to feed the post.

I think if we get Ball positions will mean something again. Although I get what others are saying about positionless basketball... Especially when it comes to Bender.

Yeah but I dont enjoy that the Sixers get 4th and 5th.

I am ok with them getting the pick. I am sure they will draft a Center who will be injury prone and replace thier previous first round pick.

He just needs to get rid of Knight without having to add assets to him before training camp and then he'll be good.

I still don't understand the pressing need to get rid of knight unless there is a free agent we are gunning for. Plus we already have cap space.

Just feels like it's gonna turn into a toxic situation pretty soon. He can't be happy to continue to get benched while believing in getting 25-30 mins on some team somewhere.

And that can't be here because that would be detrimental to the development of Booker, Ulis, Chriss and Bender since Knight doesn't like passing the ball much.

Just no need to wait for it to turn into a toxic situation and it's better to get rid of him before that.

Well I get what you're saying on that. I was just hoping with his exile plus an offseason might motivate him to prove people wrong. Besides, I would rather we keep him than to trade him with his stock this low.

I do not want to give up assets to move Knight either. Maybe the Suns can trade him for a more useful player who is not doing much for another team.

Otherwise let's bundle him in a trade. :)

Too early to buy him out.
