Yao is highly overrated... shouldn't have been selected, at least as a starter.

"I'm not asking you who's on second."
"Who is on first."
"I don't know."
"Third base."

(Please, if anyone understands the point of this reference, let me know.)

Hey F-Dog, let's see some post-game clutchcity posts! A perfect way to end the first half of the season!

Great game! Well no, that was perhaps the worst game I've ever watched in competitive sports, but good for us.

Is it because Yao is only a starter because it's people's choice and the people don't know he's over-rated?

From the Rockets board.

these phoenix announcers are so effing annoying - the main guy says "SHAZZAM" every time they make a 3.

they don't even have stoudamire... i swear if the ydidnt have nash they would suck... stupid suns

Yao has zero points and zero rebounds at halftime. There's like no proof that he even played.

McGrady is just not right ... that quote before the game about not even wanting to play basketball some days because of all the problems? 4-13 shooting and 4 turnovers, ugh.

Keith Bogans scared the hell out of me on 4 separate passes... I don't think he's comfortable yet, or he's a terrible passer.

I just can't believe how lights out the Suns are shooting on their threes... yeah it's nice when Nash can find the open guy, but you still got to hit them. 10-17 at HALF ... wow.

Looks like the ledges and bridges are all full, and the stores are out of razor blades...

wow. Phoenix is good.
JVG is gonna kill himself. I won't shed a tear cause i have gouged out my eyes.

I think Yao is VASTLY overrated as well, but name 1 center in the west that is better?

I like this one from the end of the game.

LOL I just noticed that our two centers are the only ones on the team without rebounds. And one of the centers didn't play.

Oh boy. And Tmac and Yao seem to be absolutely hysterical on the bench. They were cracking jokes with one another but you could see the crazed look in their eyes. I think Tmac and Yao are gonna play one-on-one in the middle of the interstate after this game is over.

LMAO

That for some reason really annoys me that they would say that. Call the Suns soft all you want, but don't make fun of McCoy. He is by far the best announcer Ive heard in any sport and a class act to boot.

I didn't watch the game (will have to buy from Google video - forgot to set the DVR), but all I needed to know was right there in the box score:

Yao Ming: 19 minutes, 6 points, 0 rebounds, 0 blocks
Pat Burke: 16 minutes, 7 points, 6 rebounds, 1 block

Which one of these is the Western Conference All-Star Starter, you ask?

uh, we're pretty damn good.

And not to belabor the point but IMO we are playing w/o one of the five best players in the NBA.....name me one other team that would be this good record wise who could say that....I cant even think of one IN NBA HISTORY....maybe just maybe the Lakers without Kobe when Shaq played in LA but thats about it, and i would not even bet on that. Just goes to show you how good nash is...

The scary thing is i think these last few games have shown that it has taken us 50 games to get everyone use to playing this style and playing with Nash and Marion....and we were pretty damn good while everyone was getting "use" to each other

Nash might turn out to be one of the best free agent signess in NBA history if we get a ring or two out of this......

This has been an unprecedented run of good fortune these last two season as a Phoenix area sports fan.......

So I ask you this Suns fans....Which one of you was the one who sold his soul before last season....?

You know you're good when you got outscored by 11 in the 4th and still win by 34:)

All this without James Jones as well

gotta love this team.

It was nice to get to see Skita playing a little. He didn't run as well as I expected but then he wasn't as flimsy either. I thought he had good looking shot mechanics even though he was off target. He didn't drive but he went for an inside shot and fumbled the ball away, though it might have been tipped. He lost a rebound out of bounds, too. Maybe it was nerves but he didn't show great hands.

Defensively he wasn't put under much pressure but he didn't do badly. It remains to be seen if he can guard a SF with some quickness.

I couldn't watch the game, but who took the primary assignment on McGrady?

The team defense was excellent last night. I know I am a Nash fan but even Nash played pretty well defensively. He went for steals twice and almost got a third one. Raja and Marion were so active on the rotations and Diaw was just fighting with Yao whenever he is on.

Our defense was actually quite physical last night and Swift and T-MAC were frustrated several times. I admit they could have called those but I guess that's what Pistions/Spurs do all the time... just be aggressive and test the refs' endurance. lol

PS: Kurt Thomas' shooting is so flat... how come he hasn't improved on that? The announcers keep saying that mid-jump shot is his bread and butter but every time I see him on national tv, it's really not that good.

I cannot remember two back to back games against supposedly quality teams where the Suns have played as well - ever. It is hard enough to win the second of a back to back, so getting a 47 point lead in such a game is absolutely incredible.

What are the Suns doing now they weren't doing earlier? The easiest answer is that they are moving the ball better and hitting their shots. When the Suns aren't moving the ball well, they tend to take too many contested shots and give up long rebounds that generate easy points on the other end.

Another factor is that the team is running better. Early in the season it seemed like the Suns couldn't run as fast as did last season. Even Nash seemed a bit slower and all the new guys struggled to up the pace. Fatigue seemed to be big problem which led to numerous fourth quarter collapses.

Particularly since Barbosa has returned, it seems like their pace has been stepped up. Also, it looks like the Suns are showing better recognition of opponents defenses and getting to the basket more.

D'Antoni has done a great job of getting the team to play his style and it is really paying off. Now the trick is to keep it up against bad teams.

Their is no doubt that Barbosa has helped pick up the pace since he has come back. He is so fast, the opposing team can not keep track of him sometimes.
In last nights game he turned the ball over a few times when he got out of control, but he is improving, and gives the suns a speed demon that helps run the D'Antoni fast game.

In all of these trade talks, Barbosa keeps coming up, I do not think the suns are going to trade him, his game of speed and scoring is exactly what D'Antoni wants.

I also can not believe the Suns are going to trade JR. This guy is a pure shooter, and they are hard to find, plus, the contract he has signed is not that large.

The Bulls went 55-27 in the 1993-94 season, all without Jordan.

From the Espn Game Notes:

"The Suns' 32-point first-half lead was their largest at intermission since Nov. 10, 1990, when they led Denver by 40 points, 107-67."

Haha I remember that game....too bad Paul Westhead doesn't coach in the NBA anymore. It would be interesting to see if this team could reach the 100 mark by halftime again.
