Maybe it's not just some of us. Did anyone know that the Cards promised Vince Tobin a new deal before they dropped the ax on him?

"They are rewarding mediocrity with a $1.3 million pay raise."

Apparently, Jurecki is saying that the feeling inside the facility is that the Cards won't get over the hump until they sign a big-time general manager. The problem is that the first think that would happen if a big-time general manager came on board was that they would tell ownership to get the heck out of the football side of the building.

Apparently, the feeling in the facility is that Mike Bidwill enjoys putting his hand into the program too much for the on-field success of the franchise.

Jurecki is what he is. He has some great insight at times but he also lets personal grudges cloud his opinions. Of course he's bashing Graves. Promising Tobin an extension...when after the 55-whatever beatdown right before he was canned? Let's go back a decade ago and rehash all that BS. I mean come on.

Jurecki is a player's shill. That's how he gets all his inside info. He constantly beats the players side of the drum. Take it for what you will.

BTW,

I am amazed anyone still listens to that station compared to 620.

This is why Boldins comments at the start of training camp were so calculated and why it was such a big blow.

No matter what peoples feelings were about the Cards before hand, no matter how good the feelings were, people thinking how they might have turned the corner and so on, no matter who is at fault everyone and their brother in the media, all NFL fans in general are all going to scream same old cardinals. Anything good that may have been done is gone now. Boldin knew exactly what he was doing and put maximum pressure on them with the timing of it.

I feel sorry for Whisenhunt and his staff the most. Instead of talking about how Levi Brown has improved, or how much better the front 7 is he know gets to talk about this mess.

Tobin should have been fired. The mistake was hiring his Defensive Coordinator who coordinated the defense that would give up 400 points a year.

I like to listen to both because 620 is the complete opposite of what you are saying about 910. 620 works for the Cardinals so its hard to not get a biased opinion from them as well. They are both on far extremes. If they could make a station that was in the middle then I would listen to just that one.

I listen to all of them. I like Jurecki in the morning more because I find Wolfley's party-line delivery interesting in the podcasts but tiresome on a day-to-day basis. Also, Wolfley's cadence is, IMO, unlistenable. Terrible.

This is an unnecessary distraction from what I'd rather be hearing about, as Joe points out. It's incredible for me that more people aren't all over Anquan Boldin about his monumentally selfish decision here.

I get a kick out of this. If M. Bidwill hadn't of come along and allowed RG to be a real GM, we'd still be living in the 20th century.

 According to you, Rod Graves wasn't "a real GM" until Dennis Green was hired. At that point, the stadium was approved and under construction. What does one have to do with another?

I give Mike Bidwill a ton of credit for spearheading the stadium venture and moving the Cards into the late 20th century in terms of shifting authority toward football people. But Mike Bidwill also shouldn't pattern himself off Jerry Jones, which is often what it seems like (Did Georgia Frontiere appear on preseason pregame broadcasts? I don't know).

I'm pretty sure that it wasn't Dennis Green that brought in Edgerrin James. There's no question that signing Emmitt Smith was a poor football decision.

Successful franchises leave football people to make football decisions.

Bah, it is part of the game.

The Cardinals have had the mantra of not paying up, and it is not only the Boldin situatio from this offseason that would cause some one to shout "same ol' Cardinals." Wilson, Dansby, Dockett, and Warner just to name of few.

As for Whiz? Take a page from the Eagles, or Patriots who have delt with this kind of situation the best. This kind of fanfare happens with most teams, and in a sick way it is nice to see the Cardinals have a situation that actually merits some attention. Whiz is a GREAT public guy and I think he will handle the situation very well. If you read his replies to the situation (and of course you have, not saying you didn't) they are awesome replies. Very calm, and matter of fact, and filled with "best for the team"

As for finding a new GM ? There is no GM that will change things unless the Bidwill's were to just sign the checks and not have any say in what is going on. OR the Bidwill's have to go. And history shows the Bidwill's are not going anywhere, and have no qualms about being the laughing stock of the league.
So we up the creek on that one.

One of the problems that Bick and MJ are noting is that Whis hasn't spoken to Boldin at all so far in camp, and doesn't have a plan to.

Whiz has better things to do than nurse little Q's ego.

Still you should have a sit down with him about it.

This is between the FO and Anquan. The head coach has a say, but he doesn't write the checks or pull the trigger in these situations.

They should at least look each other in the eye and see where each other stands. I don't think it will be a problem based on how Anquan and Whiz hold themselves.

But as you said. I think Whiz is a little busy right now, and justifiably so. He has another 80 guys to think about.

MJ and Brickley are sitting on their arses with nothing to do but blab all day. Kind of stupid to be calling out the person who is busier than anyone on the planet right now about talking to one player.

Anquan said it was a problem or Bickley and MJ did?

I ask because honestly I don't see contract problems as being an issue for the coach. If Anquan thinks Whiz is blowing him off because of the contract then yeah they should talk, but it could be Whiz just figures that's one guy I don't have to worry about(as he said yesterday) so the last thing I need to do is talk to him about his contract?

Another way of looking at it is that it draws attention away from the, "..look at what we could have on our team if we had drafted Adrian Peterson insteand of Levi, improved as he may be."

:D Just kidding.

Interesting and of what relevance to Rod Graves is this ?

It may be me but I remember Fergi was the GM at the time ?

Yeah, that. Has Jurecki ever said anything bad about Fergi? I think not.

Well there was that time she peed herself on stage. MJ was pretty rough on her then.

If we have a winning season, I'll leave it to others to define what a winning season is, it should resolve any issues that remain open and on the table. Each game will be a sell-out, the fans will be happy, Q will get another new contract to replace his old, new contract, and RG will stay as GM happily for another season.

If we have a losing season, however, the fans will stay home in droves due to high cost of tickets, Q will continue to be very unhappy, Rod Graves image will be made into Kachina Dolls for some Card fans to stick full of pins. We will then continue our somber attempt to rebuild the Cardinals into a winning Team. Very depressing if we have a poor season. There just won't be enough Koolaid to go around and some of you will suffer.
