Air Raid Warning!
How many days until KC signs him? I'm guessing he's a Chief by Friday.
I liked Hood, most of the time he looked like a great #2 CB. But about once a game he'd get so lost his man would get 15 yards behind him. I never understood why he got beat deep so many times. I'm assuming he was thinking he had safety help over top, but who knows, he got beat deep a lot.
Go for it!I could probably make an arguement that Hood is more important than Q.

First make the argument why you think Hood is worth $5.5 million this year.
My point was even w/o Boldin we have depth at WR. CB w/o Hood... not so much.Feel free to entertain us.

Well put! May come back to haunt them if Toler isn't great from the start. Why is Bryant McFadden who has never started more than 9 games in a season in his NFL career worth $5 million a year and Rod Hood who has started 30 games in two years in the AZ not worth $5.5million?
I know the answer! Because the Cardinals think so. Wanted to save you the typing.

Hood was pretty good when he kept the receiver between him and the sideline. He had a very good first year doing this, but was beat by several very good throws last season. As mentioned, he was susceptible to double moves, and didn't have the wheels to cover effectively in the open field.
This strikes me as both a personnel decision made by Whis in concert with the D-coordinator and D-back coach, and a cap decision.
It would have been nice to keep him, but he'd be a $3M $$$ luxury, that, evidently, the team could not afford given other priorities.
There are several experienced cornerbacks on the market right now, and they could be in the team's "cheaper" plans after they've assessed the present contingent.
I agree completely. When Whiz first got here he was talking about filling spots in free agency and the draft and he said it's not so much about the player but more importantly about what the position needs. Yes, Hood is more than capable of playing nickel but there are other experienced corners out there that can do it too, for half the price. I would not be surprised at all if we signed an experienced FA corner before training camp.
Your avatar. Is that from Trailer Park Boys?
Yes... Bubbles. That show is hilarious.
