Doesnt this seem weird? Not the StL thing, but that the Rams are honoring him into the Rams Ring of Fame for his play with the Cards?

Former St. Louis Cardinal defensive back Roger Wehrli waves to the fans during a ceremony to install him in the St. Louis Rams Ring Of Fame at the Edward Jones dome at halftime between the San Francisco 49ers and the St. Louis Rams Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007, in St. Louis. Wehrli played his entire 14-year career with the football Cardinals.

I thought the Rams had more of a "St. Louis" Ring of Fame for guys like Wehrli, Larry Wilson etc.

If Wilson and Wehrli are in a "Rams" Ring of Fame then it's BS, IMO.

I think the Ravens have something similar for the Colts. The Rams should just move back to LA anyway.

HE'S A CARDINAL......not a ram....

quite frankly this pisses me off

We should hurry up and be the first ones to put Kurt Warner in our ring of honor just to piss them off.

unreal

The Rams put Dan Dierdorf up in their "Ring of Honor". I'm sure this is something the player in question agrees to before they do it.

Does Wehrli have the same issues with the Bidwills that Dierdorf has?

Dierdorf has been critical, but doesnt have bad blood with the family.

Based on some of the pre-induction stuff -- and Wherli coming down and visiting, I would be shocked if he did.

I think this is crappy form by the Rams --

if they want to do it, fine-- but I think they should have waited until after the Cardinals inducted Wherli into their ring.

Yes -- lets get Kurt Warner up there quick

Anybody who has followed the Rams for any length of time would realize that they don't have a whole lot to draw on. :D

I don't like it.

The team name (not the city) is the where the player belongs.

The Rams already have ex-Rams...they don't need ex-Cards.

The Baltimore Ravens should only get Ravens...not Baltimore Colts (that belongs to Indy).

If there is a St. Louis HOF (not affiliated with Rams) then ok.

BTW...you can have Dierdorf but not Wherli!

It would have been a bit more classy to do it at the Cardinal game on 10/7. At least it would have made more sense.

The players belong to the franchise

meaning that any players that where Oilers in Houston actually belong to the Titans, name and city changed but that is the same Franchise. Earl Campbell should never be honored by the Texans because that is a totally new franchise but it would be completely valid if the Titans would honor him. What the Rams did was completely chicken-s%it, us putting Warner in our Ring of Honor would be completely valid if we wished to honor him since he was a Cardinal and the same goes for Emmitt Smith (though both have not done anything for the franchise worthy of it, it still would be in the rights of the franchise). What the Rams did would be like the Dallas Cowboys honoring a Kansas City Chief since the Chiefs where once the Dallas Texans. Rams, give the NFL a freaking break.

The Cardinals should retire Eric Dickerson's number.

It's ironic with the Ravens, since they "bequeathed" the franchise history for the Cleveland Browns back to Cleveland that they would snatch Baltimore Colts players away from Indy.

The Rams have a long and storied franchise (comments from 40 not withstanding). They don't need to kipe former Cardinals players for their own Ring of Honor.

What's next? Will the Bears steal away some of our Chicago players now? Why don't the Browns induct some Rams players from their Cleveland days?

Thats what I was thinking.

Still nothing is more bizzare than the Miami Heat retiring Michael Jordan's 1/2Bulls 1/2 Wizards jersey in their arena.

Who cares which team honors him first. The Cardinals or any team should be honored if one of their players is honored by another team. Also there are a huge number of fans in MO who saw Wehrli play at Mizzou and then in St. Louis. Honoring him in STL is as much for us fans who spent so many years watching him as it is for him. I hate to break the news to you but football Cardinals games are not broadcast in MO anymore except for a couple each year and most people dont give a rats ass about the the football Cardinals. So no one in STL would be aware that AZ honored him. So give us old fans are due and recognize that he played in St. Louis and we want to honor him in St. Louis. He is a Cardinal and he should be honored in AZ too and his number should be retired. All HOFers numbers should be retired. It is awful for the Cardinals not to do that.

I am curious to know how many of the people who are upset at the Rams for honoring Wehrli ever saw him play?
