Who cares which team honors him first. The Cardinals or any team should be honored if one of their players is honored by another team. Also there are a huge number of fans in MO who saw Wehrli play at Mizzou and then in St. Louis. Honoring him in STL is as much for us fans who spent so many years watching him as it is for him. I hate to break the news to you but football Cardinals games are not broadcast in MO anymore except for a couple each year and most people dont give a rats ass about the the football Cardinals. So no one in STL would be aware that AZ honored him. So give us old fans are due and recognize that he played in St. Louis and we want to honor him in St. Louis. He is a Cardinal and he should be honored in AZ too and his number should be retired. All HOFers numbers should be retired. It is awful for the Cardinals not to do that.

I am curious to know how many of the people who are upset at the Rams for honoring Wehrli ever saw him play?
I did not, I am only 32 and started watching Cards when I was 7 or 8... I don't think he was playing then, at least I never noticed him...

He was also born in MO and went to school there.
=================
Cornerback Roger Wehrli was inducted into the St. Louis Ring of Fame during a halftime ceremony Sunday. The Ring of Fame includes Pro Football Hall of Fame members from the St. Louis Cardinals and the Rams.

"It's so nice of the Rams to include the four Cardinals who are in the Hall of Fame in their ring of honor, because they didn't have to do that," Wehrli said. "This is where we played. This is our home. So it's just wonderful to have this opportunity — to be able to share this honor with St. Louis fans."

The other St. Louis Cardinals in the Ring of Fame are safety Larry Wilson, offensive tackle Dan Dierdorf and tight end Jackie Smith. Wehrli will be inducted into the Arizona Cardinals ring of honor Oct. 14.

"That's the one good thing about the Cardinals leaving St. Louis, and the Rams coming in, is we get to have two of these ceremonies," Wehrli said.
