Rogers-Cromartie is what the late Joel Bushbaum would call a "Planet Player"

Don't stress. December 14th here in Arizona.

My birthday. I think. I do know that's my wife's birthday. Great memories from the last time the Viks came to AZ in December.

I posted last year that AP was going to be a star and that the Cards would regret not getting him. AP was my sure-fire, lock down, gotta have him pick.

This year it is DRC. He will be a star in this league. Watch him in this link: http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d8073fbe2

The kid is unreal. He has closing speed, incredible change of direction, and catches the ball at the apex. He is fast and fluid. He honestly makes the other corners look rather sluggish and slow.

I knew there was a reason why I liked you.

Aside from the complete lack of class entailed in crowing about being right about something, congratulations on unearthing a hidden gem like Adrian Peterson. You were really going out on a limb there, and I certainly never heard anyone else predict that he'd be good.

I'm impressed by the depth of your analysis of Cromartie. I had no idea you watched so much Tennessee State football. What kind of satellite package do you have that shows their games every week?

I thought "planet people" was the concept of late Giants GM George Young (and to lesser degree Bill Parcells) --

i.e.--only so many guys are the combination of great size and athletic ability, usually applied to offensive and defensive linemen
You be correct, en fuego. The concept (mentioned by George Young after drafting bookends Eric Moore and Jumbo Elliott with his first and second round picks) was that "there are only so many humans on the planet" who are that big and/or that fast.

Buchsbaum (who, along with Palmer Hughes, Mel Kiper, Dave Te and the Ourlads guys were "Da Men" among draft gurus back in the day when I used to religiously attend the draft) should be credited for coining the phrases:

- "All Pro from the neck down."

- "Will make your draft or break your heart."

- "Looks like Tarzan; plays like Jane."
