Rolling back the clock to remember this Liverpool stunner

Iconic Premier League giant Liverpool have always maintained a penchant for the unbelievable.

From Steven Gerrard's ability to unleash an unstoppable long-range thunderbolt, John Arne Riise's vaunted dead-ball lethality, and magical moments in the box from Luis Suárez, Fernando Torres, and many others, the Reds know how to score a goal across the Premier League era.

But one of their best came from an unexpected source; Sebastián Coates.

Before ultimately going on to have a fairly successful career at Sporting CP while also representing Uruguay at the highest level on 51 occasions, the Montevideo-born defender spent two years on Merseyside in forgettable fashion. Except for one moment.

On this day 13 years ago, Coates bagged the only Premier League goal during his time with Liverpool, hitting a sensational scissor-kick when QPR failed to properly clear their lines after Stewart Downing's low drive aimed at the far post.

His time was short in the northwest of England, but few better goals were scored by anyone donning the famous all-red strip.
