Weekly long story. Will he, won't he.

Here's what I do know. Bowles is bringing the heat right up the middle.

Romo hasn't done much practicing during the week the entire season.

Even if he can play, it's almost as much a win for the Cards pass D as if Brandon Weeden is out there instead. The Cards bring pressure up the middle, and a hobbled Romo is going to be a victim of that pressure. Think about how often Foles was able to escape interior pressure last week to a half of the field.

The biggest problem is the health of Patrick Peterson. He probably shouldn't play this week. If he doesn't play, then the Cards are going to have to dedicate an additional safety to Dez Bryant's side of the field. Cromartie prefers to play "sides", which means that Cromartie is going to be playing against either the best WR he's faced since Demaryus Thomas or we're looking at a Jerraud Powers/Dez Bryant matchup.

If Powers can play like he did against Maclin, I think he can manage taking Bryant.

Nonsense. Powers didn't play well against Maclin. Certainly not on that 54-yard TD reception. Powers was also getting a ton of help from the safeties.

If Free (T) and Leary (G) are hobbled by their injuries, it might make sense not to trot a hurting Tony Romo out there behind their backups.

This

Maclin ate Powers for lunch, and I feel that Terrance Williams and/or Dez would do the same.

We need Peterson back.

+1

The Cardinals will have to put Cro on Bryant, and Powers on Terrence Williams, and I am scared of Williams eating Powers lunch.

Not to mention the fact I won't even discuss the Cowboys offensive line...........too damn good.

But possibly banged up pretty good. They were trash against the blitz on MNF. I know we have no edge rush, but that wasn't what unsettled Romo all night.

But running, yeah, they are good. Will be a grinding test for our defense. I think our biggest hope is for Ellington to go off so we can control the clock and keep Murray from wearing down our front 7 down.

I think Murray can be controlled by our schemes. I didn't say "stopped" I said controlled. He had one run of 52 yards Monday night and 88 yards on the other 19 carries. Tackling at the point of contact will be the key for us with him.

Yep we need to knock him around some.

We haven't done it all year, what makes you think we're going to start now? Also, Dallas has one of the best offensive lines in the league to boot. Don't get me wrong, I agree with your seintiment but our pass rush has been lacking at beat. Cards are 2nd to last in sacks with 7. We're also back to being last in the league in pass defense.

Um, everyone, apparently everyone but you, said that Powers played that pass well, just couldn't get a hand on it. He was stride for stride with Macklin then cut under to get a bead on the ball. He just barely missed it.

I'll do that play for my write-up today. But everyone was all over Patrick Peterson last week for a play where he was in position against DeSean Jackson, and it was a perfect throw.

And it's "Maclin."

I think much of the problem was romo and the wideouts not reading the blitz correctly. Often the skins were bringing an extra guy or two in than what the oline had to block and romo was holding the ball trying to rely on his feet rather than his arm/brain. I know it was short but when weeden was in he took some pressure but the ball was coming out fast and hitting the receivers in their normal routes. The only small critique I have of romo is that he doesn't always adjust in games to that type of pressure. Rather than getting the ball out fast he tends to hold it too long gambling to make a bigger play than what they need at the time. In a lot of those blitz situations he could have been handing it to Murray as well.
