Interesting discussion on a Knicks board about who they would rather have, Rondo or Dragic. They are comparing Dragic to Tony Parker now. Honestly, Dragic might be the best pg in the league right now. And the Dragic/Bledsoe thing works. I am enjoying watching this team. They are really starting to pick it up.

Honestly, Dragic isn't close to being the best PG in the league right now. CP3 and Curry are better, Curry in scoring and assists and CP3 overwhelmingly at assists
And defense and close in scoring.

I've always felt Rondo is overrated, and he's a few months older than Dragic with more mileage, so Dragic would probably be the choice for me.

I think Dragic is more of a complete guard than Rondo so in my book, Dragic wins here. I wouldn't want to get into the ambiguous area of comparing Dragic to Paul, Curry or Tony Parker because there are so many factors that come into play including the talent level around those players and some hype. Certainly Tony Parker wins until he is dethroned.

Honestly, Dragic isn't close to being the best PG in the league right now. CP3 and Curry are better, Curry in scoring and assists and CP3 overwhelmingly at assists
And defense and close in scoring.

Curry has 3 points and 2 assists per game on Dragic, while playing two more minutes per game and shooting 46% while Dragic is shooting 51.5%.

Paul scores two points less than Dragic, averages 5 more assists than Dragic, and shoots about 5% worse than Dragic.

I'd call that pretty close, especially with these two guys being undisputed leaders of their teams, while Goran has had to yield to Bledsoe.

Out of the three, I'd say Paul is the best overall player (mostly due to his defense), but to say it's not "close" is kind of silly. I don't think people who don't watch the Suns regularly appreciate just how great of a shooter Dragic has become this year. He is 6th in the league in 3 point FG percentage, and 23rd in overall FG percentage (this includes Centers, forwards, etc.) It looks like the only players shooting 50%+ and 40%+ from the 3 point range are Durant and Dragic.

I'll take Dragic over Rondo and Curry. Paul is probably a better overall player, but I wouldn't say "it's not even close."

Sure Paul and Curry are better, not sure who else is. Dragic is incredibly efficient for a pg.

I think it's Paul and Curry, neck and neck with an argument for the next ten spots or so and both Dragic and Bledsoe fall into that argument. I'll take our combination of starting guards over any others though and that includes the Curry/Thompson duo that I was expecting to be heads and shoulders above all other pairs.

Dragic is a below average defender at the point. Where are all the fans that were bashing Nash for being a one-way player and why are they giving Dragic a pass now? Goran can't guard two thirds of the league's starting point guards. Offensively, he's looking more and more like James Harden every day (sans beard) and I'd hate to think where we'd be without him this season but as an all around point guard he's not all that close to the top. As a combo guard, he's a borderline superstar though and along with Bledsoe they are an almost unstoppable force.

I like Dragic's robustness over both Paul and Curry. The dude doesn't stay down for any length of time.

Absolutely. It is obsolete to measure Goran by his assists. Now that Bledsoe has returned, Dragic is our starting Shooting Guard. And backup Point Guard, to attest to his complete game.

Last season was Goran's best Assist average in the NBA -- 7.4. His 6.0 this season reflects him being the lead Point Guard with Bledsoe out and lead "2" with Eric playing.

Of course, Goran's scoring average rising from 14.7 last season to 20.6 (and maintaining with Bled back) has put him in his own category.

Especially, his ability to drive and score consistently among the trees. His success down low has been far more accurate than Plumlee. That is not something to be taken for granted. Stitches and all.

That is true. He's the only known offspring of the Energizer Bunny and a Timex Watch. Takes a licking but keeps on running and running and running.

Goran is a worker and he will just get better and better until his body can't handle the tempo anymore, 4-5 years for sure. You all say he is near his ceiling, but that has been said for him while he was still in Europe.

And the average stats he has now are skewed by the fact that he was meant to be no. 2 player at the beginning of the season and Bledsoe was quite a ball hog at the start.
Basically all the games Suns lost in January and December were 2-3 people shooting below 25-30 % and Dragic doing 20-30 points.

I am just worried he will get a serious injury sooner or later the way he is playing.
Suns making playoffs probably means that he won't play for my national team in the FIBA WC. :/

If someone after this run still should mention Suns should tank I am going to get banned from this forum. :)

I agree. Despite his stats the Celtics team offense has historically been better with him off the court and I think his defense is overrated.
