Evan Lichtenauer fired a four-hit shutout April 21, striking out nine without a walk, pitching the Licking Valley baseball team to a 2-0 victory against visiting Watkins Memorial in Licking County League-Buckeye Division play.
Brandt Lichtenauer delivered an RBI single to break a scoreless tie with two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning, and Zane Hancock singled and Adam West doubled, leading to a run in the sixth. Silas Kyle also scored a run for the Panthers (9-3, 6-1), who remained in a first-place tie with Granville.
Brayden Windnagel struck out eight and allowed five hits and one earned run for the Warriors (5-5, 4-3). Aydan Guthrie singled twice.
Hunter Hammond struck out six in four two-hit innings of relief, pitching Newark to a 9-3 victory at Reynoldsburg in Ohio Capital Conference-Buckeye Division play.
Bodie Smith led the Wildcats (4-3, 4-1) with two hits, three runs and two RBIs. Moses Crane added three hits, including two doubles, and two runs, Seth Fish two hits and two runs and Aidan Hamilton a double, a run and two RBIs.

Watkins Memorial had its 26-match regular season winning streak dating to 2023 snapped in a 3-2 loss to Pickerington Central.
Gavin Adelman and Nathan Walter were victorious at No. 1 doubles, 6-1, 7-6. Wyatt Meade added a victory at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-1, for the Warriors (10-1).
