The Los Angeles Lakers were finally just about back to full strength on Saturday when they hosted the Chicago Bulls. One of the injured players who returned to action was Rui Hachimura, who had been out for nearly a month due to a case of patellar tendinopathy.

It wasn't exactly a good outing for the Lakers, as they were blown out in a 146-115 Bulls stampede. Hachimura came off the bench and was on a minutes restriction, and he didn't look like his old self. He shot just 2-of-6 from the field and only scored five points in 18 minutes.

The forward said that his hurt knee won't be fully back to normal until this offseason.

Rui Hachimura estimated that his knee feels about 75-80%, and it won’t fully heal until he has time to recover in the offseason.

Even if Hachimura won't be fully spry the rest of this spring, he will be valuable to the Lakers' hopes of doing something significant in the playoffs. His ability to score one-on-one and move without the basketball, especially along the baseline, makes their offense more potent and allows them to make defenses pay for keying on LeBron James and Luka Doncic.

At 6-foot-8 and 230 pounds, Hachimura also gives the team the type of size most of its other frontcourt players simply lack.
