Looks like the Nets might come out ahead after all. I'd rather have DWilliams than Melo.

In a breaking news story, the Utah Jazz and the New Jersey Nets are in discussions in a three team deal that would send Deron Williams to the Nets in exchange for Devin Harris, Derrick Favors, and several draft picks.

West is really losing all their stars to the east this season. Right now, it looks like the east has more superstars.

This is the second Nets rumor that shocks me. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems they are almost trying to get rid of draft picks in addition to bailing on Favors way too soon. If they need a superstar that badly let's send them Nash for Favors and 4 first round picks. If necessary, we could toss in Grant Hill also. We'd suck for a few years but it would be worth it. Although, I'd hate to do that to either Nash or Hill.

I guess we're too late. The deal has already gone down with Golden State also involved. Too bad, we could have used one of those multiple picks they were giving away.

The Nets want to get rid of Harris bad and the only way to do it while getting something of value back is to trade Favors.

Too bad. I would have liked to find a way to get Williams.

There are a number of interesting pg's in this draft though. A decent one should be available with our pick.

I am content with sitting tight right now. No deal is better than a bad one. Make a deal if you can get a good one.

Sure but if they're going to just give away draft picks I want a spot in the receiving line. I think this Russian billionaire is convinced that the 2010 Miami Heat model will work for him in the future so why not get rid of those burdensome rookies and draft picks. I can't think of another explanation for this deal on the heals of their Melo offer.

This is a common misconception. They aren't giving out draft picks, they are only giving picks to the Jazz. The Warriors are getting Murphy and a 2nd round pick for Brandan Wright and Dan Gadzuric.

I am of the opinion that this helps the suns to have dwill gone from the jazz which IMO will have them continue their slide out of playoff contention.

Utah is going to have to build its team on "Utah-type" people. I am really curious to see what picks they got. Can you see Jimmer Fredette going to Utah in this draft?

Do they have any more picks to give?

BTW. The Nets did this deal without an extension in place for Williams and without talking to him even to see if he is inclined to resign with the Nets. The deal was a shock to Deron. Wow. This could really backfire for the Nets. It would be the Antonio McDyess deal on overdrive.

Deron Williams chases Jerry Sloan off of the bench and then the Utah brass trades him? Whoops.

Or did Sloan quit because he knew the Jazz were going to give away their best player?

With Denver AND Utah trading away their respective superstars, this makes it slightly easier for the Suns to get in the playoffs. Not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing yet.

Plus Utah raped New Jersey. Their future looks a lot better than ours right now.

We are talking a #3 pick Favors, a good player Harris and 2 very likely lottery picks (Nets 2011 and GSW 2012)

Williams can't even sign an extension until July so its not like they could have talked a whole lot.

Hell no to both players.

Milsap is undersized and overpaid.

Al Jefferson declining and overpaid.

Wish we could have gotten Favors.

I wish we could get Dwight Howard and Chris Paul, but that's not going to happen.

Milsap might be a bit undersized, but he still pulls down 8 rebounds per game, while scoring 17 points as 3rd option. That's not bad for less than 7M per year.

Not quite sure how you figure that Al is declining. His numbers are not worse than last season. Sure, he's had a couple of injuries and he went from being the first option in Minnesota to being 2nd option in Utah, so his numbers are going to be down a bit, but I don't see that "decline" you speak of.
I realize you'd like to have 12 rookies on the roster next year, but that's not going to happen.

Agreed on Milsap. Barkley was undersized too (not puting Milsap on the same level). All that matters is performance. Landry is undersized too, but some here wanted him out of HOU.

Send Lopez/Warrick for Milsap and run Nash-VC-Hill-Milsap-Gortat with Frye, Dudley, and Dragic as the top rotation players. I'd feel a lot better about this team with that makeup....

Jefferson didn't go to Utah as the second option. He is the first option on that team.

He went from Minnesota and putting up 20/11 to Utah playing with Deron Williams since then he is averaging just 17/9 and has serious injury problems and is not a good defender.

You have to prove your numbers on a good team and Jefferson hasn't done that if you ask me, he is already past his peak although he is only 26.

Yh Millsap is putting up 17/8 but he is a tweener, 6'7 PF.. I thought he would signed a contract worth 10M$ per season guess I was wrong, still he is not a desirable player in my opinion because he is a tweener.

And being a small tweener ist never good. If would be different if he was a 6'11 PF being able to play SF.

More than anything, it's just amazing how poorly we played the Amare card.
