I heard a juicy little rumor this weekend, and this looks like the best place to display it.

Hello all, hope you're doing well. I'm as fine as can be, despite nursing a wicked hangover. And yes, I even hope those hating me with red hot passion well.

I have a source close to Dan Majerle, somebody who's nearly considered family in Thunder Dan's eyes. I'd rather not give away the source, just to say that I don't lie to people here, people who know me here should probably know me well enough to know I am honest to a fault at some times. But because revealing my source has even the slightest degree to bring some sort of harm or to reflect badly on this person, I prefer to take no chances and keep quiet on who they may be.

I tell you only that I trust this person to be telling the truth and that I'm telling you this only because I thought this was too good not to share, and this isn't the type of thing I'd want to discuss on Planet O. This is something ya'll can chew on or not. Basically, you can rip me a new one if you think I'm making this up too, but I can tell you in no uncertain terms that I'd lay my soul on the line to verify that I believe this to be an entirely truthful account.

The rumor is that Dan Majerle hates Terry Porter with a passion, and he's not alone. The entire coaching staff cannot stand Terry Porter. They all think he's doing a terrible job. And the team feels exactly the same way. Dan has told my source that everyone has given up on Terry Porter, with the exception of Kerr and Sarver.

According to my source, Dan has already spoken up about not wanting to take over the reigns as head coach. Dan supposedly would rather it not cut into his drinking schedule. He feels he'd need to be a more responsible leader than he's willing to be right now and the team deserves better. Dan supposedly jokes about this in this manner.

The most likely scenario seems to be, even if we appear to be not making the Post-season, Kerr and Sarver are dead set against firing Terry Porter. Even though the entire team and the rest of the coaching staff have given up on Porter, Kerr and Sarver are determined to prove they're right and everyone else is wrong.

There is however a slim chance they may let Porter go, and if they do, it appears Alvin Gentry would be the most likely candidate to replace him as head coach of the Phoenix Suns. They're staying in-house.

Me personally, I want Marc Iavaroni. The team loved him when he was here. But according to what Dan's told my source, they ain't spending any money they don't have to this season.

I have another friend who's close to this situation who claims the housing market situation is hurting Sarver.
We're both hoping that this means that that douche-bag will have to sell the team, that Kerr will be out the door soon too as well, and maybe we'll get somebody in there who don't got his head up his ass. But we're just hoping this is the case, neither have heard any rumors about this to corroborate this at all, at least not yet. Just wishful thinking on our part. The rest though I totally believe 100%.

Do with this info what you will. Call me names or feel free to discuss the possibility that this is all true. I swear though that I do have a source and this is exactly what I've heard, and I trust my source completely.

Wow, this guy spent 2 full paragraphs to try to convince the reader he's trustful before reach the real topic ... From my experience, such thing must be complete BS.

Plenty of people do that online. I usually weigh motive more heavily than convincing efforts when calling out BS.

ya never know, i think majerle is alot more accessible than you think. especially the managers that run his restaurant. (one of the dudes that manages is his best friend) I know for a fact that they sit down in the office at majerles and gossip about that stuff. I only worked there for 4 or so months and i can tell ya if you ask the right questions they will certainly let you in on a little bit of info.

and another reason i think this guy is legit is because that whole drinking thing sounds EXACTLY like something dan would say... dude loves his cranberry vodkas.

And if the dude is right you can be sure that the relationship with Majerle just got extra strain. Not to mention that the source is going to get some flacks for running is mouth.

Well, we never know. I just wonder what Sarvar and Kerr thinks after reading this. I'm sure they'll heard about this just like us.

If we really want to change a coach, I'll vote for Jeff Van Gandy.

I'd just like to point out, that Ladmo [the poster with the "rumor"] is a long-time, and well-respected member of phxsuns.net. He also knows more than a few people on that forum personally. I don't think he'd be the type to make this kind of stuff up. Notice that none of the other longtime posters in there even thought to doubt him.

I think it's interesting, but it's also funny that he starts off by saying he's recovering from a wicked hangover.

People, you got to realise, if it is true, this is the worst thing could happen to the team.

Either, Porter got fired and a much better one take place.

Or, players started to trust their coach and do whatever he told them to do.

Either way, it's better happen as soon as possible.

Majerle hates Porter? That's surprising since the only reason he decided to join coaching staff was because he respects Porter and played with him. Not so with D'Antoni.

Who doesn't hate Terry Porter?

I don't hate him, nor should anyone else. Porter the person seems to be a very good person and has never given any of us a reason to "hate" him.

I don't like his coaching style for this team. I'd rather see the Suns give him a shot to finish out the season to turn it around before firing him, but in the interim I'd not be opposed to seeing him replaced.

Just another reason Sarver prefers the $$ rather than a championship. He won't bite the bullet and hire a more competent coach. This guy is the death of the team.

It will be interesting to see if kerr trades one of the players to hide Porter's deficiencies as a coach.

Anyone who has a team build a collage about "togetherness" doesn't deserve to be a NBA head coach. Pretty soon he'll start handing out orange slices at halftime and give out little trophies to all of his players at the end of the season.

You're right - maybe I don't hate Porter, I just don't respect him and neither do the players. I do however H-A-T-E Robert Sarver with an absolute passion. He's a smug, penny pinching d-bag who has ruined this franchise. We will never be successful with him owning/running the team.

And I will add that Kerr is a walking disaster empowered by sarver to do the destruction. Sarver got what he wanted ANOTHER low cost, clueless GM(after DA). I shudder to think what the dismissing of BC has cost this franchise in profit AND success. The selling of the team by the colangelo group was the beginning of an organizational makeover that was very costly indeed for suns fans.

However, Ladmo is pretty respected over there. It's not like someone came over and made it their first post. So, I give it a 50/50 chance of being legit.

How far this franchise has fallen. At one time this team was in the top 5 best run franchises in the NBA. Sarver and company have run it into the ground
