Thats the kind of guys you need a number of if you're going to play small ball successfully - small in height but powerful. Now, if D'Antoni would just think in those terms, I'd be happy with his small ball plans. Imagine a team with Josh Howard, Iguodala, or Ginobili as SG; Nocioni, Josh Smith or Deng at SF added to Nash, Marion and Stoudemire. Have Paul Milsap or Chuck Hayes coming off the bench - heck, Renaldo Balkman would be okay. You'd still need a backup big or two, but that would basically be a small team that could hold its own in the paint. Interestingly, there's scarcely anyone on that team that the Suns couldn't have gotten - but our FO guys just never think in terms of physical strength. Been like that ever since day one and its ticked me off the whole time.
