Heard from a pretty reliable source he is gone as of Monday.

Does this seem eerily similar to DesertDawgs post? lol

It's possible. It seemed weird to me that the Cards put an OL on IR with a hand injury. If the Cards actually had Jeremy Bridges in their plans, give him an injury settlement (which might be what happens now), or wrap that thing up in a cast and let him club fools.

Friend of mine was at a sports bar with a large group of Cards fan watching the game in Zona, Bridges was there and they said he was laughing and stating how he still gets payed while pointing at a baby wrap around his wrist. Guys does not give a crap about this team and I for one am glad the guy is gone

As I recall, he tore a ligament in his hand, which does make it pretty hard to block. I wouldn't proclaim that as not caring about the team.

uh Solar, I was talking about his attitude at the sports bar, he told the fans there "I don't care, I'm still getting payed" and he was laughing at the game when it was on. I sure the hell would proclaim that as not giving a damn about the team and everyone there proceeded then not to give a damn about him either at the place.

Are you claiming Jeremy Bridges was at a sports bar while the Cardinals were playing a game?

that is what I was told, maybe it was an away game. Friend said he was there with a girl and scarfing down some food. There was a large group of Cardinal fans there and one of the fans recognized him and simply said "we could really use you right now" and he said it in a complimentary fashion, and he turned to the fans and laughed, pointed at his cast, and said "I don't care, I'm still getting payed".

I can't find anything on the injured reserve rule other than sites talking about the new come back later change. Why put a guy on injured reserve if you have no plans to use him the next season? You still have to pay him. Why not do as you say, reach an injury settlement and let the guy go?

Bridges has to agree to the injury settlement. Why would he if he's getting paid anyhoo? He gets paid for health care and a game check for sitting at home.

If he is indeed waived with an injury settlement, he can sign on to some other team and get some tape put on in another system, and then enter free agency next year.

I didn't see anywhere that the player had to agree to the settlement. Seems like something that would be addressed in the CBA. Sort of like Accident Insurance. 50% of salary for a torn bicep. 76% for a major knee injury. Sure does seem like a weird deal if teams can't release an injured player without his consent. What if the guy has an injury so severe he'll never play again? Do they have to keep him on injured reserve for the remainder of his contract?

I wonder if he was the injured player Whis called out in a team meeting.

I honestly believe Whiz was calling out Heap. The article on AZ Central went through the list of injured players, even the ones on IR, and Heap is the one closest to healthy (and has been that way).

I'm so disappointed with Heap, like everyone else. To describe how bad he's been, he's so injured that we rarely even talk about what a waste of a roster spot he's been. We expect him to be riding pine. It's all he's done since he got here.

Heap's roster spot could have been used to solidify our oline, even if all we had in return is an average blocking TE who can't run routes or catch. He's actually hurting our team by being on it.

This is a man who sold his soul to block Jared Allen for one night...

It was actually a two game deal. Bridges also started for the Cards in the Green Bay playoff game when the Cards ran up 531 yards of offense against the #2 ranked Packers defense.

He made the deal at the same time we all made our two year deal for the 2008-09 seasons.

Seventeen games scoring over 30 points!
12 games with over 400 yards of offense!
938 yards of offense against the 2008 #1 Defense and 2009 #2 Defense.

:koolaid:

And now we can barely get a first down. :(

Why bag on heap? Even when healthy not like our genius coaches even know how to use a TE. They knew when they brought him in he was at the end if his career. You have a fast athletic TE in housler that you barely use. Whiz shouldn't be calling anyone out but himself he put the offense in the position it's in with his poor coaching and talent selection!
