Here's a little something that's a stretch, Suns coach Mike D'Antoni is Kobe's idol, he's the reason Kobe wears number 8 and when Kobe says he wants to "be like Mike", he's NOT talking about Micheal Jordan, he's talking about Italian league legend Mike D'Antoni (he said so in Sports Illustrated).

Another thing.

Remember the ROY video on suns.com?

Kobe said that Amare is hands down his rookie of the year.

Amare said in an interview that Kobe Bryant is the player that impressed him the most.

I tell ya, if were after Kobe, which I HOPE we are, having D'Antoni is an advantage...

http://www.sptimes.com/News/091400/Sports/Heat_signs_MacLean__F.shtml
"Kobe Bryant and his father, Joe, bought a 50 percent share of Olimpia Milano in Italy's Serie A and want to buy the other 50 percent. Bryant lived in Italy for eight years while his father played in the league. His idol was Milan's top scorer, Mike D'Antoni. "

Royalty rights?
D'Antoni was asked if it was true that the Lakers' Kobe Bryant wears jersey No. 8 in his honor. D'Antoni donned the digit during his legendary Italian playing days, and Bryant spent part of his youth in Italy, where his father, Joe Bryant, played for a spell.
"I don't know," D'Antoni said, then laughed. "It sounds good. It's a great story. Kobe grew up there. We were killing people (on the basketball floor), killing his dad. We had a lot of fun. I've known Kobe forever. ... Maybe if he ever goes with a retro jersey from Italy, I can get some royalties."

Kobe IS SO INNOCENT!

I'd love to have Kobe here. But Marion'd be even more redundant than before. With Kobe and Amare, we even more need pure shooters with good defense as complemtary players.
With time, JJ may become a good shooter since he does have a nice shooting mechanics.

So, an Amare/Kobe/Zarko/Barbossa lineup sounds good enough if Zarko and Barbossa pan out like we all hope.

Well, I've had about two hours to sleep on it, and I have a few thoughts.

*I do not think Kobe Bryant was the goal for the Phoenix Suns. It might be a possibility if he is acquitted, and the general consensus is that he was innocent and forgiven. Bryan Colangelo said a couple times yesterday that the Phoenix Suns could clear umpteen million dollars by the end of next season. The Colangelos have been trying to get rid of troubled players in bold organizations. We'll see.

*Shawn Marion is having a bad season. We know that, he knows that, the Colangelos know that. However this season, and for part of next I believe, is virtually untradable because of his BYC status. I'm going to lay off Shawn Marion a little bit to see if this coaching staff can get him back on track over the remainder of this season and next summer.
