There is a rumour all over Boston and the New England area that the Patriots may sit Brady today (and he could miss a few weeks).

The reason: Two small fractures in a tiny bone in his right ankle.

The injury supposedly occurred during the second preseason game. In last weeks game against Indy, Brady aggravated the small fracture to the point where Belichek may hold Brady out and ask Dillon to shoulder the offensive load.

I have no evidence to verify the validity of this rumour... but the rumour is rampant amongst scouts and support staff within the New England organization.
They are suggesting that Belichek had the team travel 2 days early to Phoenix because of the need to prepare for the loss of Brady in his gameplan (the report of weather acclimation was B.S.).

It is also highly rumoured that this has been a concern in New England and that is the reason for the strong emphasis on identifying a quality backup for Brady during the last 2 games of preseason.

Has anyone heard anything ?

There may actually be something to this story, simply based on it's momentum and popularity... has anyone seen the Patriots at practice since being in Phoenix ? Has Brady taken the usual 90%+ snaps with the first team... or is R. Davey splitting time with Brady at practice ? Typically the Patriots have a fairly open door policy regarding their practices.

Love to hear anything that may clarify this !!

Yeah.... I've read the reports on his shoulder injury. Brady is listed as probable.
Coaches tend to 'fib' a little in order to prevent their opponent from gameplanning against them. remember the Shanahan reports last year about Jake's injury.... word in Boston is that this shoulder injury is BS.... Brady has 2 small fractures in his right ankle that have been geting treatment since the second preseason game.... the aggravation last week against Indy may force Belichuck to sit him and let the ankle heal.

This was a rumour but it's something that is picking up momentum. Pay attention to Mort (ESPN) this morning.

If anyone can verify this, as having any validity, I'd like to know before I place my wager on the game.

Brady is healthy people. And the shoulder listing has to be there due to the technicality of the off season surgery he had. It is healed but still must be listed due to the surgery.

A nice hit between the shoulders will speed the process to the sidelines a bit. I say Adrian Wilson gets the duty.
