Nice how the running game suddenly got better when Gorin & Hodgins stepped on the field. Seriously, these guys, along with Milford Brown & Leonard Davis, put the other O-linemen on the field to shame.

Hodgins is a great blocker. He seals the edge on the outside runs. I haven't seen a FB or TE do that for us in years.

It was nice seeing Shipp & Arrington chip off 6-7 yards a pop on that last drive. Boldin's fire & determination on that last block for Arrington was excellent, and it's really nice to see Arrington running hard, not timid.

I agree. THey should have gave Huff that INT IMHO

I don't know what they saw that could've overturned it. Maybe the refs figured they needed to get into regular season form by screwing us on at least one call.

Arrington should be the starter.

If I don't, no one else will. I mean, the boxscore reports never talk about Shipp & TDs. The media never puts the two together.

I think it's like that last scene in Field of Dreams. You know, where if the player steps over the line, he all of a sudden becomes old & decrepit. That's gotta be why Shipp is so nervously afraid of the endzone.

Leinart is our second leading rusher so far. :bang:

Yeah, but we were actually able to run the ball in the Red Zone. That's improvement and good enough for us to score a lot of points this year.

120 yards against the Bears is not too bad, no matter how they came.

I agree on Boldin's effort on the come back block but damn... Q looked like he ran in to a brick wall on that play. I don't know who the Bear's player was that he tried to block, but the guy must be a monster to be able to take a hit like that from a guy as strong and physical as Q.

If you watch the replay, Q had a full head of steam and barely knocked the guy off his stride. Q, on the other hand, looked like a rag doll. Amazing...

Totally agree. I think Gorin should be slid into RT pretty quickly simply based on what we saw today. And Hodgins is the best blocking FB on the roster by a BIG margin.

Apart from that holding call, BIG was stoning guys out there. He could be a legit Pro Bowl candidate this year.

Watching the replay it looked like somebody had a talk or something with JJ.

His first series he looked real tentative then after that he started running with some authority.

Based on today's limited exposure of Gorin, he might be a steal for even a 6 rounder.

A sixth rounder is practically nothing. Sure, there's Tom Brady, but 75% of those guys are out of the league in less than 5 years. It was worth a shot for even a fourth rounder, as bad as we were hurting IMO. The guy has started in 5 playoff games which beats the experience of our line by 5 games.

I dunno why NE made this deal. They could have asked for more knowing we are hurting badly at RT.

They have young talented OTs out the ying-yang and only wanted to carry 4 on the final roster. Rookie Ryan O'Callaghan has looked great so far, so he pushed Gorin out, because he already was on par in production on the field with a much bigger upside.

Q got the worst end of it physically for sure, but his block effectively removed the defender from the play, so it was successful.

Q hit the guy too high & from a bad angle, & one of the first rules of football contact is that the low man usually wins.

What a difference a week (and two additions make). Hodgins made a couple of outstanding seal blocks, and Gorin is an asset in the running game and better than Bridges at pass protection. There is hope.

If they got too greedy teams would just wait until he was released in a couple of weeks and pick him up and NE would get nothing.

BTW: Aren't most of the 6-7th round picks out of the NFL in 5 months rather than 5 years?
