I have ties to neither ASU or UA and I've seen Cason listed as the top or at the least top 3 CBs in this draft. He's definitely a 1st round pick.

Will all you ASU homers just drop it already. I actually really like Torian but anyone who thinks he is getting drafted anywhere before Round 6 is kidding themselves.

I guarantee the college football fans who don't live in AZ on this MB are like "who the hell is Ryan Torian?" He doesn't exactly have a long history of production and he got hurt half way through his "big" year. And I am not thinking he is going to run a 4.3 or anything.

He isn't Chris Henry after all;)

"who the hell is Ryan Torian?" Seriously. :D

I think everyone is focusing on the measurables just a little too much. Has anyone ever watched this guy run before? Does he look ANYTHING like JJ Arrington to any of you? And Steve Breaston?LOL

He just plain knows how to run and he is a powerful SOB - even with that small frame - keep in mind all the other backs drafted late who ended up being stars in the NFL. IMHO this kid fits that mold as well.

Don't get me wrong I think he'd be a great back on a team like Denver that generally does well with small shifty guys who have time to hit a whole fast. Don't completely ignore the fact that our OLine has historically let guys get in the backfield more than regular. That is when you need a guy who can break a tackle or two without going full speed, not when you need a Michael Bennett type.

I think this is the operative phrase. I don't think anyone would mind if we got Ray Rice in the third round or later. But I think a lot of people wouldn't be very happy with the value they got getting a scrawny, light RB who'd you still have to spell with another back in the second round. Not when we need help on the DL, OL, and at cornerback.

Exactly. Not to mention, for every one good RB in the 2nd round and later there are many more forgotten backs that never amounted to much.

Many great NCAA RBs never translate to the NFL. i.e. JJ Arrington. Size does make a difference. :D

Up here in Md, my friends who are Raven and Skin fans (especially the Raven ones, as they are tired of Samari Rolle) are all big on Cason. I am no college buff, but I normally know every player in the draft through Rd 6 and I had no clue who this Torian kid was until I read this thread.

Torain's got better size. I really wonder what he is going to run in the fourty cause Torain is a real bruiser.

Ryan Torrain is a great talent with power and speed...his injury may reduce his ranking among backs but he is a rare combination actually

8th-best Senior RB on this list (though I have no idea when it was updated. Great size and good speed. He played 13 games as a junior and gained 1200+ yards. In 5 games his senior season he had 553 yards rushing and 7 TDs total. JuCo transfer. We'll see what happens when the Combine comes up, and if he'll be ready to play in the Senior Bowl. Whomever gets him is going to get a heck of a value, especially if he falls to the second day.

I'll be a bit surprised if he's there in the third. He's a better back than Leonard was at Rutgers and from memory Leonard went to the Rams in the second

Brian Leonard 6"1" 226 # and has played heavier.

Ray Rice 5'9" 195 #

That is why.
