Last week we told you that CBS News reported that the Ohio State football team would be visiting the White House on April 14. That report had not been confirmed by OSU administrators, but today, head coach Ryan Day confirmed that the Buckeyes will indeed be heading to the Presidential residence and called the invitation an honor.

In today's political unrest, there are opinions that stretch from coast to coast. But Day is putting politics aside and is excited for his team to take the trip.

"Yeah, it's an honor to be invited. We were formally invited," Day said. "I remember growing up and watching the national championship teams go to the White House. I always looked at that, like, 'Man, what an honor that would be.' So, it's part of the celebration of our team. ... Looking forward to getting that all planned out."

President Donald Trump as well as Vice President JD Vance are expected to be present. Vance is a 2009 graduate of Ohio State and has made his love for all Buckeye sports well known.

“It’s an honor to be invited…. It’s apart of the celebration of our team”

Ryan Day said he grew up watching teams be honored at the White House.

The visit will take place just two days after the "Spring Showcase" formerly known as the Spring Game, as Ohio State gets some downtime before summer camp begins.
