I have it on good authority from a prominent UT booster that Saban is "locked up".

$8 million a year to go to Texas. Doubles his salary.

Guess we will see if he is right soon enough.

8 Mil? Wow I guess he could leave for that amount.

Yeah. I wouldn't believe it, but when they start tossing around details like the salary amount and referencing "six friends of the program" who agreed to foot the bill, it seems a bit more credible.

The knock on the current HC is apparently recruiting more than record. Too many Texas kids opting for other schools. RGIII's name came up as one that particularly stung.

How weird would it be if Texas went the Fiesta Bowl and their coach still got fired?

Nick Saban is happy in Tuscaloosa. His wife, Terry, isn't. She runs that show. No idea if he's locked up, but I wouldn't be stunned to see him leave for Texas if for no other reason than to appease his wife. She doesn't like Alabama fans. I think she may be surprised Texas fans are cut from the same cloth.

Texas has their own network. Football is king. So much money flying around that program. Who knows maybe the NCAA hot seat is getting warmer in Tuscaloosa. Alabama has paid players going all the way back to Paul Bryant.

The loss to Auburn and the end of their National Championship run makes it all that much easier for him to bolt.

Rumor is, he's expected to announce his retirement after the Baylor game. Whether its a forced one or he's doing so due to the long talked about burnout is to be known.

Also hearing all sorts of other "just in case" names bantered with for the job. Everyone from Mike Tomlin and the Harbaugha to Gus Malzahn and Mike Gundy are linked to it. Universal belief is Saban is close or a done deal.

Truth be told, I'll believe Saban is leaving Alabama when he is having a press conference in Austin.

Didn't his wife dispute the real estate report a few days ago and say they weren't going anywhere? Didn't they also say though that they weren't leaving LSU and then left LSU?
