Safety - Now a need ?

I'd be really interested in LaRon Landry. I think his brother got released today as well. Wouldn't mind bringing them both in.

I read Landry is looking for a payday of $6M a year. William Moore just re-signed w/ ATL. DET is making Delmas take a physical to make sure he is healthy. I would go after Kenny Phillips because he would be the cheapest of the bunch but he is also the least productive of the group. Patrick Chung would be nice but I doubt he leaves NE, if he does some other team with offer him more money.

The draft is the only real option, a guy like Tony Jefferson in Round 4 and re-signing Johnson is probably what ARZ's plan is. Maybe throw in an UDFA to provide depth.

All this FA movement involving safeties makes me wonder whether the role of the safety is evolving to keep up with the latest trends & matchups involving the read-option, multi-receiver and flex TE.

Is the job description changing?

More coverage skills and decent tackling. Good fundamentals as always.
