I will laugh if he goes to a team that throws the ball as much as the Cards ( I think), but it will be fun to see him on that team.

Edge can still be a very good running back. I don't know why people hate on him so much. No one ran successfully on a consistent basis for us last year. Obviously it was because of our run blocking and the way our offense was ran.

No your wrong. He cannot still be a VERY GOOD RB.

Solid back up RB yes.

I think Edge can still be a solid contributor, but I don't know about "very good"...at least not in the role he wants for himself. He's too slow to the hole to be an every-down back.

The Saints might be a good fit for him. He won't be asked to carry the load, but can be used as the banger to Bush's scat-back. And, they have a ton of passing plays to the HB in the playbook so I imagine he would be used (relatively) often in the passing game.

i think it's a good fit for him. They'll use him the Deuce McCallister role and he can still be very successful. Houston would be another good place for him.

The Saints would be a nice fit for him. He would share caries with Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush. He no longer is going to be a featured back but can still contribute. He is a hard worker and a team player. Hope the best for him.

Then why haven't we heard of more teams knocking on his door? I would think if the league still thinks like you do there would be more offers. The Saints are just like the Cards as far as passing offense goes. I would think if he had options he would be looking for a more run oriented offense. I mean its all about the stats for Edge.

I would love to see the guy finish out with the Colts, but New Orleans might be a good fit. Saints like their U of M guys. Shockey, Vilma, Morgan, Edge.

I appreciate what he gave the Cards. Maybe it wasn't great yardage but it was usually forward yardage as opposed to a loss brought by all of the backfield dancers we've had here. He actually provided some stability back there. This doesn't mean I would prefer him over Beanie at this point. I just see no grounds for bagging on the guy.

I think this is going to get real interesting. Is Edge willing to sign with a team that does not promise him 20+ carries per game? Is he will willing to sign for less than the $5 million per season that I bet he thinks he's worth?

I have no doubt that Edge could catch on with another team and be a solid contributor but I think his own ego might get in the way of that. I have a feeling he is going to be out of this league a lot sooner than a lot of people realize, and not because he doesn't have any skills left.

It appears Edge isn't remotely interested in joining the Saints to be a backup. Read this on NFL.com just before bed last night. This whole thing was a reporter speculating and writing it up as news. We've seen that before.
